They were leaving on Monday, so Lunar wanted to get to know them all fairly well before they left. They did some archery, some hand-to-hand combat, and a few other things. At dinner,they all joked around and talked about Delos with Lunar. A few of them started coming up with theories as to where Lunar had been for the past 2000 years, but were mostly joking with them. After dinner, all the campers and hunters went to the campfire to sing and roast marshmallows. Lunar was quite confused at first, she had no clue what a marshmallow was. The Hunters explained what it was, and Lunar became quite excited to try one. Apollo Cabin led them all in some songs, and Lunar loved every bit of it. Lunar sang with everyone else, her voice fairly unheard among the loud campers. By the time the campfire was over, Lunar had successfully roasted a marshmallow, and eaten 3 more. After everyone else had left, Lunar was still sitting there, staring up at the stars. “Hey.” She heard a familiar voice say, sitting down beside her. “Hi.” She said to Kai, who had joined her. “How are you?” He asked, looking up at the stars with her. “I’m good. I had a lot of fun with the Hunters today. What about you?” She asked. “I’m good.” He didn’t elaborate, but just looked at Lunar. “Will you sing something?” Lunar was surprised by his request, not many people had ever asked her to sing. But not many people had ever heard her sing. “I don’t know…” “Please?” He said, his eyes pleading. Lunar considered for a moment, then started to sing. “Mia istoría eléous tha sou po. I’ve never heard you sing in English.” Lunar nodded, then continued where she had left off, but in English. “A wolf, I thought. Would be a catch, that will make their comments halt. With this thought in head, I crept off into the deeply wooded forest, holding tight my bow. After time had passed, my body aching for food, I finally found what my soul hungered for, a white wolf, moon making its coat a glowing thing. I aimed my shot for the heart, and released before it knew I was there. It turned towards me after my arrow marked its target, staring at me with a plea in its eyes. It was asking that I spare it, leave my arrow and depart. I considered for a moment,then took my knife from my belt, and finished the creature off. This is my great bounty I thought, No one will best me on this. Moonlight on the wolf, which reflects the crimson evidence. Its last cry still echoing in my soul. I took my dead beast and brought it to my home, cleaned the thing then slipped into bed, and slept the night away. When I awoke the next morning, I paraded my bounty across the village. My scorners no longer remarked, and I was rightly respected. Now I tell you, don’t make the mistake I did of giving up mercy for self gain, or else you will regret it till your own departure. Its cry still echoes in my nightmares, plaguing my heart and soul with my greatest mistake.” Lunar finished, taking a deep breath. Kai, absolutely captivated by her song, murmured “Wow.” when she had finished. “My father taught it to me, he told me it was my mother’s favorite.” Lunar said, looking shyly at Kai. “Did you like it?” She asked. Kai took her hands, “Like it? Lunar, I loved it!” He exclaimed, shocked that Lunar would think anyone could not like it. Lunar blushed profusely, the only person she had ever really sung for was her Papa. He had taught her how to sing, as he loved singing. “Thank you. I should be going, have a nice night, Kai.” She said, standing up and walking away, still blushing. Kai stared after her murmuring, “Goodnight, Lunar.”
