(“Lunar, one day, I will make sure you meet your mother. But for now, I want you to know her favorite song, because you already know her favorite food.”) ~~~ When Lunar woke up the next morning, she was startled at first. She had gotten used to being in Hermes Cabin, and now she was in a new place. It gave her slight flashbacks to her first day in the 2000’s. She had been at Camp Half-Blood for 5 and a half days now, arriving mid Monday of this week. It was Saturday now, and the campers had the whole day off, Thalia informed her. Lunar was technically now the Head Counselor of Artemis Cabin, given that she was the only person living in the cabin constantly. She realized she was going to be very lonely once the Hunters had left, because tables were set by cabins during meals.Luckily, Lunar never stayed at meals very long. But, there were also things she would like. She had a bathroom connected to her cabin, and she would have the whole place to herself most of the time. It was nice for Lunar to be able to change in her bathroom that morning, before heading with the Hunters to breakfast. They all introduced themselves, and became fast friends with Lunar. She joked around a bit with Reyna and Thalia, and laughed at the jokes the other girls made. She only ate her usual, and the others showed concern about how much she was eating. Lunar waved them off, and made a joke, “As long as it doesn’t affect my aim and pullback strength, it’ll be fine!” The others laughed at this, because it was going to be impossible for that to happen. She was better than all of the Apollo kids, and the Hunters when it came to archery. At breakfast they also informed her that they would be leaving in two days. Lunar told them she would be sad to see them go, but happy to have her cabin empty. They all laughed, then decided to head to the archery range. Lunar decided not to go, and told them that there was someone she needed to talk to. Two someones, actually. She set off to find Cecil and Connor. She owed them an explanation, and Lunar didn’t like being in debt. When she finally glimpsed them heading towards the training arena, she was lucky that they were both together. “Cecil! Connor!” They turned towards the sound of their names, glancing at each other with surprise when they saw Lunar. “You speak English now?” Cecil asked, avoiding Lunar’s eyes. Lunar nodded, then said, “Can I talk to both of you? I owe you an explanation.” They glanced at each other uneasily, then both nodded. “Thank you. To start, I’m sorry. I should have told you sooner, but I was still wrapping my head around the first thing I needed to explain. I was born just over 2000 years ago, in what you know as 104 B.C.” They both looked surprised and shocked, then gestured for her to continue. “The reason I’m a daughter of Artemis is that I was born before she became a maiden. She became a maiden in what is now known as 103 B.C.” They both nodded again. “I went missing in 88 B.C. I fell asleep and didn’t wake up until this past Monday. I don’t know how it, why it, or what happened.” They both paused a moment, then Connor said, “I can understand not telling us now. It’s all cool.” Cecil murmured his agreement, then they said simultaneously, “Friends?” Sticking out a hand. Lunar smiled at them, and they smiled back. “Friends.” Lunar agreed. “Ok, but how do you speak English now? You didn’t when we talked yesterday.” Cecil asked, clearly confused. Lunar laughed, and Connor upon realizing this, gave her a confused look as well. “My mother blessed me with being able to speak and understand English, but I still know Greek as well.Katálaves?” They all laughed, the boys saying “Katálaves!” They all laughed for a while, then said their goodbyes so that Lunar could go hang out with the Hunters some more before they left in two days. Lunar smiled as she walked towards the archery range, wondering how she ended up with such good friends at Camp Half-Blood.
