(“Lunar, one day will come when I am not with you anymore. When that day comes, you will need to know how to cook. Let me teach you your mothers favorite recipe.”) ~~~ Lunar went to meet her mother at the archery range. When she arrived, her mother was already there, sitting on the grass. “Uh, hello, Lady Artemis.” Lunar said awkwardly. Artemis looked up surprised from where she had been picking at the grass. “You can call me Mother, or Mom, or whatever you like Lunar.” Artemis said, her face softening. “Alright… Mother.” Lunar replied, not used to the feel of the word. Artemis cleared her throat, before saying “ Well, Lunar. The reason I wanted to talk to you was a few reasons. First being, I want to allow you to speak English. It will make your life much easier, and I want you to be able to communicate with those who don’t speak Greek.” Lunar eyes widened in surprise, before she said, “Thank you, Mother! I would love that!” She said excitedly. Artemis smiled. “Secondly, I want to give you this.” She held out her hand, and a silver bow the size of Lunar’s usual bow appeared. “It will grow to the size that you need as you get older.” She held out her other hand, and a quiver appeared in the same silver color. “This quiver will never run out of arrows. You will always be able to pull another arrow from it.” She held them out to Lunar, and Lunar took them respectfully, pulling the quiver over back and trying to find somewhere to store the bow. “The bow will fold to fit inside the pocket on the strap of the quiver. Tap the top twice.” Lunar did, and the bow folded to a nice size, then Lunar was able to fit it into the pocket that Artemis pointed out on the strap going diagonally over her chest. “And finally, I wanted to invite you to join the Hunters of Artemis. I’m sure you already know what that entails.” Lunar hesitated, she had known this would come at some point, Reyna had told her. “Mother, I hope you don’t mind, but I don’t think I’ll be joining the Hunters. I haven’t had a good chance to live yet, and I want the chance to fall in love, and live a normal teenage life. So, I might join in the future, but I want to stay at Camp Half-Blood for now.” Lunar said. Artemis nodded. “I figured that would be your answer. Just know the offer always stands. You can join us whenever you like.” Lunar smiled, then gave her mother a hug. Artemis was surprised for a moment, then hugged Lunar back. “Now, Lunar. I want you to tell me i f any boys come into your life that you like-like, ok?” Lunar laughed and rolled her eyes. Artemis laughed as well, then said “Let me fix that language, ok? You’ll keep your knowledge of Ancient Greek, but you will also be able to speak English, ok?” Lunar nodded, then Artemis waved her hand, and… nothing obvious happened. “Lunar? Can you understand me?” Lunar’s eyes widened, that was English! “Mother? That was English, wasn’t it?” Artemis smiled, and hugged Lunar again. Lunar smiled and laughed, this was the happiest she had been since arriving at camp. When they both pulled away, Artemis put her hands on Lunar’s shoulders. “Lunar, stay safe. Me and the Hunters are leaving soon, but know that I will keep a close eye on you. Understood?” “Katanoitó!” Lunar replied, happy that she could speak Greek and English now. Artemis laughed, and the two of them started walking back towards Artemis Cabin, smiling and laughing the whole way.
Sorry, this was a bit of a shorter chapter, I just didn't have anything I could think of to make it longer. Me. Rick Riordan Ping List @the_mighty_bunny @Dobby061812
