Damascus has undergone a huge population boom, its strategic location and important economic center has caused a large population boom, spilling out of the borders uncontrollably. So, the government has decided to expand the capital district to the region shown in red, to help keep the city united as a single core city, and urbanize the newly expanded regions. New planned districts will begin to be build in the newly expanded areas, along with industrial centers to help build up our manufacturing industry.
Blue represents the old capital district, red is the new capitals expanded borders.
