Manual config is back, you'll need it. Disclaimer for this update: Using too many connectors could heavily affect how you see walls. You might just fill in everything accidentally. Use them with moderation. No, I did not use Griffpatch's tutorial. I hate tutorials. I decided to try and make my own 3D game. However... I have no idea how to make this first-person.
UPDATE ON EXPERIMENT 4: Connectors (the lines that are used only to fill in empty spots) used to be limited and very chunky. They used to just take one line, multiply it 10 times and then draw another one of another size, which is what made those rectangles. I changed the approach- first of all, it’s not always 10: you can customize it. Second of all, and most importantly, the lines use math to smoothly connect both set raycasted lines, therefore no more chunky walls, instead… smooth lines! Also I added crappy mobile controls, I’ll fix that later just needed quick mobile access. UPDATE ON EXPERIMENT 3: I added a new object called 'box' that has its own texture. You can add or remove boxes in the "boxes" sprite's costume. The textures are still very limited (only horizontal) so my next step will be to add more objects and texture them more. After that, I plan to make jumping possible- which will be much harder. Wish me luck! UPDATE ON EXPERIMENT 2: I changed it to render first-person and added a bunch of parameters. I also added rectangular filling (draws multiple lines instead of one) so we can use a low-quality raycast and it fills in the empty spots.
