(“Lunar. My little star. One day, I’ll let you try archery. But for right now, you are too little.”) ~~~ Once Lunar and Cecil had reached the archery range, they came across a girl with green hair, held back by a bandana, shooting a target a little down the way. Cecil called out to the girl in English. She retrieved the arrows from the target and then ran over towards Cecil and Lunar. She looked quite annoyed with Cecil. After a moment she noticed Lunar and asked her something, but Lunar couldn’t understand. Cecil said something to the girl, and she turned back to Lunar and asked in Ancient Greek, “You must be new around here. What’s your name? I’m Kayla Knowles.” Lunar smiled and said, “I’m Lunar. I just arrived today.” Kayla grinned and replied, “Well, nice to meet you ,Lunar.” Cecil cleared his throat and said, “Ok, introductions are over, Kayla, I was hoping you could teach Lunar some archery. She’s never done it before, but she wants to now.” Kayla cocked her head and said “Really? Huh. Well, let's grab you a bow and I’ll show you how.” Lunar followed Kayla over to the rack with the bows, and Kayla helped find her one in the right size. After finding a bow to fit Lunar, they went over to a target and started working on some drills to help Lunar learn. After about a half an hour Kayla went to grab herself, Lunar, and Cecil water bottles. Lunar and Cecil sat down on the grass, and Lunar looked around. Down at the end of the line of targets, there was a set of twins, with brown hair and medium skin, there was a boy and girl. Lunar thought that the boy was very handsome, but didn’t say anything. She just watched them until Kayla returned with the water bottles. They all took a few sips and then Kayla and Lunar got back to work. Kayla told Lunar she only had about a half an hour until she had to go get ready for her shift in the infirmary. “Lunar, let’s try actually shooting the target now, though you probably won’t make it on the first shot.” Lunar nodded, and took the stance that her and Kayla had been working on. Lunar aimed her bow, pulled back her string, took a deep breath, and released the arrow. And… “Lunar. Did you just make a perfect bullseye on your first shot ever with a bow?” Kayla asked, in disbelief. Cecil was gaping at the side, jaw dropped. “I, I think I did.” Lunar said, not quite believing it herself. “Try it again.” Kayla whispered. Lunar nocked an arrow, aimed, pulled back, took a deep breath, and released. The arrow split her first arrow in half, and went clean into the center. “Lunar. How?” Kayla exclaimed, amazed. Cecil ran up to the target to make sure what he was seeing was real. Lunar just stood there in shock. “How did I do that?” Lunar asked, speaking to no one in particular. “Lunar, I’ve never seen anyone make a perfect bullseye on their first shot. That was incredible!” Kayla said. Cecil ran back over with the arrows in hand. “Your first arrow is destroyed. Clean down the center. Two halves. How, Lunar?” Cecil said, showing the two halves of Lunar’s first arrow. “I do not know. I do not know.” Lunar whispered, staring at the arrow halves. “Well, um. I need to get to my shift at the infirmary, so… Bye,Cecil. Bye, Lunar.” Said Kayla before returning her bow to the rack and walking off. “Let’s… head back to the cabin ,Lunar. You can get some rest before dinner. Good job though.” Cecil said, walking in the direction of Hermes Cabin. Lunar shook her head and sat down on the grass. “I’ll come by soon, Cecil. I’m going to sit here for a while.” She said, Cecil turned around and handed her the arrow and arrow halves before walking towards their cabin. The twins at the end of the range walked towards Lunar, who had now put her head between her knees, in an attempt to calm herself. The girl said something to Lunar in English, to which Lunar responded, hearing the girl's words and sitting up straight, “I’m sorry. I don’t understand English. Could you repeat that in Greek?” The girl looked surprised, and turned towards her brother with a raise of her eyebrows, before saying, “I said good job with that shot. Very impressive. I’m Lily Winters, who are you?” Lunar took a deep breath before saying, “I’m Lunar. Thank you, it was my first time ever with a bow.” Both twins looked surprised, and the boy cleared his throat, then said, “That was your first time with a bow ever?” His voice slightly raised in alarm. “Yes. I just arrived here today.” Lunar responded curtly. “Oh. I’m Kai, by the way. Well, that was impressive for your first time. Good job.” Kai said. “Thank you. I should head back to my cabin now. It was nice to meet you.” Lunar said before standing up and walking towards Hermes Cabin. He’s very handsome. Thought Lunar, but shook the thought from her head as she made her way to her cabin. Kai and Lily Winters are 's OCs. She has allowed me to use them for this. Thank you, Emmie!
