~Chapter two~ •°.Twenty cabins, and yet zero answers...°.• I saw a cage. with something looming over it. inside was a boy. the thing howled. I let out a scream as the cage was destroyed, and the next thing I knew, I was bolt upright in my white infirmary bed, panting. sweat beaded on my forehead. what had i just seen? who was that creature? and why was there a cage? And i was vaguely sure that boy was my brother. I rubbed the tears out of my eyes and tried to climb out of the bed. "are you ok?" a voice called. i turned around and saw the blonde girl again. she nodded towards Chiron and walked out. she gestured for me to follow. i did. as soon as we walked out, i felt my breathe hitch. It looked like a scene from a movie. outside was light blue building with white trim, kids running around in armour and holding weapons. actual weapons. there was no way this was allowed. the blonde girl walked up the hill and sat leaning on the pine tree. she patted the ground next to her. I sat down. "Im Annabeth" she said. "whats your name?" "Amber" i replied. I looked at her dagger. why was she carrying a weapon? was this legal? she followed my gaze, then said "oh this?" she unsheathed her dagger. i backed away from her. "im not going to hurt you" she said. i still didnt trust her. "you know you're going to get a weapon to, right?" she asked. why did i need a weapon? what was i going to do with it? she stood up, and walked over to the area where 20 small cabins were arranged in the shape of an Omega. "these are the cabins. theres twenty cabins for each god or goddess in greek mythology." she explained. "why do we need cabins for some god or goddess that dont exist?". she laughed. "they do exist. i know its a lot to take in, i remember how i felt when i was told i was a demigod. ask percy. he knows." "the guy with green eyes?" i asked. she nodded. since when was Greek mythology real? no way. this girl, annabeth, was definitely lying. there was just no way that gods existed. my eyes were just playing tricks on me, and this was NOT real. i shut my eyes tight, and opened them. still the same. "you're not dreaming" she said. i hated this. its like she knew what i was thinking. could she read my mind? her grey eyes seemed to have a calculating look to them, like she was already three steps ahead and had a plan for everything. was there a god of mind reading? "that cabin is for children of zeus, the king of the gods." she said, pointing to a marble building that looks like a Greek temple. It's bulky with big bronze doors shimmering with lightning bolts. "thats hera's cabin." she scrunched up her nose as if she hated that goddess. it was similar to zeus's cabin but more graceful, decorated with peacocks, flowers, and garlands of pomegranates. "poseidon, god of the sea, percy's father." it was made of rough sea stone and coral. It smelt like the ocean. I couldnt imagine living there. "Demeter" it looked like a living greenhouse. it was covered in vines and flowers, with a real oak tree growing through the center. "Ares" it was painted bright red with barbed wire and a boar head at the top. "it looks like war." i said. "ares is the god of war. cabin 6 is Athena. personally i prefer that cabin more than the rest." Thanks for reading! part two in the instructions. Chapter three coming soon!
