(Part 3) ...But as the whole ordeal had finally had its time in the air, the gravity of the situation settled, and almost everyone began to have the same look of slow drawn worry you’d get from a doctor's appointment or a tax audit. Judas sighed and scowled, but quickly calmed down before he got called out for doing the same thing, “I need another coffee, and maybe a vodka flask, you people figure this out.” He went to the kitchen. Isaac, coming from his room (since this was his house) and broke the silence. "Maybe we can find an open store somewhere? I mean, it’s Christmas day, but some place has gotta be open, right?" He asked, cleaning his glasses as he waited for a response, getting startled when Sampson slapped his large hand on his shoulder to boom, "No store can resist the power of MY charm! Let’s go find one!" Maggy followed Isaac shortly as well and nodded softly. "Maybe we should just look around the town and see if anything’s open. It’s worth a shot." She said in her usual rosy red tint Eve, arms crossed, muttered, "Worth a shot? It’s literally the only chance of something like this even being possible, but I dunno… like realistically, what would even be open on Christmas day?" Bethany emerged behind Eve, “Well, legally speaking, police stations and hospitals have to stay open, along with most government buildings. As well as businesses that are fundamentals to societal function, like gas stations, but those only really sell sadness and beef jerky. On top of tha-” “BETH! We really appreciate your knowledge on, uhh… stuff, but I think it might be better if we actually went out and looked for something that’s open.” Azazel suggested, waltzing over from the kitchen. “Maybe it could be a fun time, plus, we already did all the partying crap yesterday, so taking a little stroll in the town doesn’t sound like a bad idea.” Cain, grinning mischievously, nudged Judas, holding his third cup of coffee. "Think of it as a little adventure, Judas. Who knows, maybe we’ll stumble upon something crazy." Judas, rubbing his temples, sighed. "OR we’ll end up wandering aimlessly and wasting time, and thus, wasting Christmas as a whole." Eve, stretched her thin figure as she rose up from her sleeping spot, “Yawn. Judas has a point, what if we just end up wasting our time running around town? ” Lazarus, moving in from his sleeping spot by the sliding backyard door, “Plus, and more importantly, what if we freeze out there? Or slip on the icy ground? WE COULD DIE OUT THERE!” Cain, laughing a bit, retorted, “Shut yo lame ass up, ain’t no one freezing out there, plus we’d die in boredom if we stayed in here anyway!” Azazel, puffing out his chest, declared, "Once again, as Lilith pointed out earlier, Cain… well err… has a good point. It’s best if we go out, plus, it’ll be fun! It’s Christmas morning so we’ll have the streets to ourselves, I think, I hope." Jacob, the oddly energetic nature twin of Esau, was bouncing on his heels, whispering to Esau, "This is gonna be fun, right?" Esau simply shrugged, silent but resolute. Azazel put on his Santa hat like a general helmet, about to puff out another set of commands, before doing a double take on the twins “Where the heII did you two even come from… actually, nevermind, we’ve already spent way too much time in this house anyway." He turned back to the rest of the group, "Alright everyone, outta the house and into Judas’s van or you’re getting fed to the wolves!” “Wolves? But there aren’t any wolves here, and this is my house.” Isaac said uneasily. “Silence thy tongue and proceed with us at once, HEATHEN!” Azazel shot back, his random shift in dialect unhostile, but also unquestioned. The group of friends quickly scrambled to get dressed for the trip. Isaac wore a Christmas sweater (his mom gave him an early Christmas gift). Maggy wore a pink turtle neck long sleeve (she knitted it the night before). Cain wore 3 shirts over each other (since he had forgotten to bring something else). Judas wore the same trench coat he wore for halloween… or any time it rained. Eve wore an oversized white hoodie she kept with her anytime it got cold (She liked how it made her look like a little ghost). Sampson wore only a tank top (swearing up and down he wasn’t cold apparently “not cold”). Azazel wore his usual leather jacket (it wasn’t good for keeping warm, but it sure was stylish!) Lilith wore a mildly skimpy Christmas dress (she wasn’t expecting to go out during Christmas morning). Lazerus wore a giant puffer sweater (it’s supposed to be bullet proof, but he still chooses to line the inside with bubble wrap). Apollyon wore a simple, gray thermal (like he did every day… like, literally every day). And Jacob and Esau wore matching, but differently colored, red and blue sweaters And so, the crew set off on their journey... in PART 4
