Good evening/night/morning to those who are awake. You may be quite concerned with the increase in stricter moderation, rules, etc. These are all for your safety. Before I get started, I am speaking on the behalf of most, if not all, managers. If you have a question, you can simply ask any of us and we will be happy to answer you. It's our jobs as managers to assist you in your Scratch career while also making sure you are safe. As you have noticed, we have politely asked a few people to leave the community for the safety of their Scratch account and the rest of us. This is not blatant exclusion or discrimination, as spop allows all ethnicities, races, genders and sexualities in their community. This expulsion from the communities is simply drama mitigation, as a good estimate was made that if we ask someone to leave, drama would disperse. Now, this is only for those who have broken the rules a countless number of times and refuse to take responsibility for their actions. This measure is not taken towards average community members and their contributions. I repeat, these are for known rule breakers and drama starters who refuse to take responsibility and trolls. There are a few ways that this stricter moderation could affect you, but these are few and far between. The worst is that you get politely reminded that something is against the rules along with a reasoning. EX: "Yo! Please don't mention Italian brainrot as it is really rude in some cultures, as I've been told, and disrespects a religion!" - Simon, when responding to a comment about Italian brainrot. This applies to every rule listed in the description, along with some rules that are not listed, and will be listed once we have something more indepth. As of currently, you can check in with Different By Design's or Gaehive's rule set, which will be linked after the rest of this statement. The most common rules being broken as of April 4th, 2026 are discussions of self destructive behavior (which is strictly forbidden, even with a trigger warning) and suggestive comments, which make people very uncomfortable and could trigger trauma for some people. These aren't the only 2 rules however, as there have been ban evasions, harassment, etc. If we want to grow and learn as a community, we need to learn that these rules exist for a reason and try to instill empathy within ourselves before harming others. Rules are what builds a society and keeps it functioning properly, while some rules are rigid and strict, it is mostly to help you understand that not everyone is like you and that people have emotions behind a screen. It is easy to get caught up in our emotions, I understand, but if we think before we post, we might save ourselves an account and maybe even a spiral or episode of ourselves or someone else. It really helps when a community is willing to follow the rules we set, and we had expected this of you all. This was why we were more relaxed originally, and have failed you as a team. There has been an increase in people not following these rules that we set, and it's getting quite annoying. So, if you do not follow these rules, we as managers have to step in and start being stricter. There is no excuse for your own actions, as it was you behind the keyboard typing these things and breaking the rules. The best thing you can do as of currently is alert one of the managers when you see someone breaking a rule, or politely remind them that they broke a rule. We are very happy to serve you all as managers, but please remember that rules exist for a reason and that we all are trying our absolute hardest to make this a great community for you guys.
