This is my poem entry :) Under a mask This is a free verse about hiding yourself and emotions. They see me happy and assume I am, I'm not always happy, I feel left out often, like there's a joke I'm not in on. My inside is all of these, left out, not always happy, I hold up my mask so they don't see the inside, The broken, tired, barely together me, The hopeful, longing, trying me. They see my good grades, I hide the bad, to keep a reputation I didn't know I had. I don't understand though, they see me mess up, they have seen some of those bad grades, but even then, they still think the same, their view doesn't change. I don't know how to feel, they come to me with questions, questions I don't know the answer to, I see the small looks when I get the answer wrong, There's only one class, orchestra, it's not as bad, but even then, I hide the sound, self conscious of mess ups. I'm first chair, it's required that I set an example for my section, So even then, I'm not safe from judgement. The only place I can find total peace, at home, in my room, Talking to friends I've left behind. They don't judge, They don't care, And we always have a laugh. I know they'll always be there for me, and that's when I'm free. Free from the stares, Free from the judgement, Free from the people who think I'm perfect, Free to breathe. Sooooo... this is a free verse poem, meaning it doesn't really have a rhyme scheme, but it sounds good rhythmically. So... yeah... This is a really deep poem. It kinda gets all of those deep things. Judgement, friends that you know you can trust, expectations, etc. This is honestly my more vulnerable side. I know a lot of people who have to go through this. Judgement, expectations, confusion. I want them to know I feel you, even if the situation isn't exactly the same. I'm always here to talk. Ooh and here's the link to my chatroom to talk Abt stuff like this. https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/51175578/
I've moved a lot, and my friends from where I moved from last summer (2025), are all amazing (one of them being my bestie who auditioned for Ro in @k_adulia_com KotLC and Social Media role play auditions, and she did a great job) people, and I love them so much. I spend hours in the week, just talking to them. Talking about swim, school, life in general, etc. The end of this talks about my friends, and if they every see this, I just want them to know this. They make my life, so much better. I love them sm and I know that if I ever see them again, they aren't going home. I'm stealing them away. I may have also hugged them so much that it broke their bones. They mean so much to me. They help me through rough patches, even if they don't know it. They help by just being there to talk to me. So if you ever see this, tysm. I don't know what I'd do without you.
