So... I came up with a story on the fly. The orange cat is Oakpaw, and the grey cat is their old friend, Greypelt. They got their names when their parents, formally warriors before becoming kittypets, decided to honer their clan by giving them warrior names. Oakpaw is a kittypet and so is Greypelt, but she wants to become a wild cat and join Windclan. Greypelt is heartbroken and devastated. They want to keep Oakpaw there, but they know they can't force her, or she'll never forgive her. So Greypelt tried to reason with Oakpaw, but Oakpaw still wanted to leave.
