~Lore~ Once there was one clan named Stormclan... StormClan had always been strong. Not the strongest. Not the fiercest. But steady, like the river that ran along their territory, always moving, never breaking. That changed the night their leader died. Ch1 Forgotten leadership... Stormstar had lost his last life defending the Clan from rouges. By the time patrols drove them off, he was already gone. The Clan gathered around him quietly and sadly. At his side stood two cats... Sparrowtalon, the deputy. Broad shouldered, sharp-eyed, a warrior who lived and breathed the code. Flarestrike, a respected warrior. She was Fierce, clever, and known for questioning things others wouldn’t dare. Stormstar’s voice was barely a whisper. “Keep..the clan..together...always...” Then he was gone. No final command. No clear future. Only uncertainty. Ch2 Something bad happens lol By sunrise, Sparrowtalon stepped forward. “I am the deputy. By the warrior code, I will go to the Moonpool and receive my nine lives then I will be the leader." Some cats nodded immediately. That was how it had always been. But Flarestrike’s tail lashed and her ears pinned. “The code also says a leader must protect their Clan,” she snapped. “And where was that code when we turned away starving rogues last leaf-bare? Where was it when kits nearly died from hunger?” Murmurs rippled through the clearing. This wasn’t just about leadership. This was about how the Clan should live. Ch3 Two Visions~ In the days that followed, StormClan quietly split, though they still shared the same camp. Sparrowtalon’s followers believed that, The warrior code is what keeps Clans strong, Tradition must be honored, no matter the cost Weakness comes from bending the rules. Flarestrike’s followers believed that, The code is outdated and too rigid Survival matters more than tradition The Clan must change or suffer a great loss... Friends stopped sharing tongues. Apprentices trained separately. Even the elders argued. Ch4 Everything's broken... The breaking point came with a single patrol. A group of starving loners crossed into StormClan territory hungry, desperate and barely able to stand. Sparrowtalon gave the order, immediately, “Drive them out.” Flarestrike stepped in front of him. “But look at them. They look like yesterday's fresh kill!" “They are not Clan cats,” Sparrowtalon growled. “We owe them nothing." “We can't just let cats die!" The argument continued... Warriors took sides physically. When one of the loners collapsed at Flarestrike’s paws, she made her choice. “Any cat who believes we can be more than this… come with me.” Ch5 Drifting apart... That night, beneath a sky thick with clouds, StormClan divided. No battle. No final agreement. Just silence… and the sound of pawsteps leaving camp. Flarestrike led her group away, vanishing into the trees without looking back Sparrowtalon remained, standing in the center of the clearing. Neither tried to stop the other. Because both believed they were right. Ch6 Two New Clans Rise. At the next half-moon, Sparrowtalon received his nine lives, becoming Sparrowstar, leader of what remained of StormClan, strong, disciplined, unyielding Flarestrike never went to the Moonpool. Instead, she made something new. Her followers named themselves FlareClan, a Clan that would survive no matter what the warrior code said. What They Became, StormClan (Hawkstar): Strict, loyal, powerful Follows the warrior code to the letter and Sees FlareClan as traitors FlareClan (Flarestrike), Adaptive, resourceful, unconventional Welcomes outsiders Sees StormClan as blind and stubborn But the Truth? Both Clans lost something that night. Not territory, Not prey... Each other. And sometimes, when the wind is just right, cats on both sides swear to Starclan they can still smell the old camp, and remember when they were one Clan. That happened many moons ago... The end. :,>
