On the 3rd of March 2407, The Novelbastidan Government passed the Emergency Production Act. This act comes during a time of crisis, since the great Gem Invasion, they have ravaged many systems, luckily our core systems weren’t destroyed, leaving our bountiful economy intact. The Emergency Production Act allows the government to temporarily nationalise all the industrial sectors in order to produce enough battle droids for the war in the collective interests of the nation. It has also cut much of the unneeded bureaucracy to fund the war machine. Trade unions, worker councils and other worker groups have been centralised into provincial guilds, which are closely observed by the state, while also negotiating with the state to achieve their goals and also getting favourable terms for the workers. The assets of large businesses who didn’t comply with the terms of the government have been seized by the state to continue funding the military. The factories and workplaces of many systems have been moved to underground areas to protect them from bombing raids by the Gems. Meanwhile, the resource mines that are owned by big business have been nationalised to supply the factories and industrial sectors with enough resources. The aim of this act was to revitalise the industry of the nation, and also to increase the production of battle droids and military equipment.
