Lore dump Cybertron was created when Primus, an ancient god-like being, was dying after a battle against Unicron. As he died, a giant planet-like structure formed around him in order to protect his body. In case his brother ever returned, Primus created the Matrix so that someone worthy of its power could use it against his brother. Eventually the Quintessons would be attracted to the planet’s high-energy readings and chose to investigate. They discovered Primus’s heart radiating a substance they named “Energon” and learned how to harvest its power. Using Primus’s heart, they created the Allspark, and used that to make Cybertron and the Cybertronians. The Cybertronians were created to serve the Quintessons, and viewed as nothing more than disposable machines. A Quintesson named Deeseus would inspire the Cybertronians to rise up against their Quintesson oppressors. By the end of the Cybertronian and Quintesson War, Cybertron no longer belonged to the Quintessons. Multiple Wars happened on Cybertron after the Cybertronian-Quintesson War. Important ones were the Titan Wars, the Omega Wars, the War of the Threefold Spark, the Malignus-Gaurdians War, and the Nova Invasions. But the War of the Primes is the latest important war due to marking the end of the last Golden Age and the Primes. By this time, the name Prime lost much of its original meaning and now multiple could hold the title as long as they showed they could bear the Matrix. The conflict started when Megatronus Prime wanted to research Dark Energon to revive Solus Prime, not aware of its corrupting effects. Prima saw it as too dangerous and wanted to put an end to his research, but Megatronus would not yield. This eventually led to an all-out war, with Primes such as Sentinel, Vector, Nexus, Alpha, Mortilus and Onyx siding with Prima. Meanwhile Micronus, Alchemist, Leige, and Amalgamamous sided with Megatronus. The war not only ruined much of Cybertron, but also brought destruction to Cybertron’s colonies. It ended when Sentinel Prime betrayed his allies and seized complete control of Cybertron. However, his rule would not last when a group called the “Ascenticons” formed due to the extreme corruption. The Ascenticons would be dubbed as the “Decepticons” by Sentinel Prime. They would accept the name as they thought it was ironic that Sentinel of all people called them that. Because of Cybertron’s extreme corruption, the Decepticons were able to gather a group of 10,000 bots to storm Iacon and take down Sentinel Prime. Then the Decepticons formed a new government that promised to allow Cybertron’s citizens to vote for those in power. For a few centuries, Cybertron was peaceful and it seemed a new Golden Age would begin. However, a bio-engineered disease called “Cosmic Rust” would be developed and used against the Cybertronians by the Antillan Empire. This plague wiped out 30% of Cybertron and left the planet in ruins. After finding a cure and defending against an initial invasion, the Decepticons used the plague as an excuse to invade other planets. As a result of conquering most of the known planets, they formed the Cybertronian Empire. While Cybertron may seem to be doing fine on the outside, the reality is that any who even doubt the Decepticons are hunted and killed.
