(Or: "A Condemnation of the Actions Taken by the Privately-Owned Company of Aperture") --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The New Republic of Polestar issued an official statement today following the strikes on the nation of Alder by the private company of Aperture. The following is an excerpt taken from said statement, published in the Innswick Press: "...The Council strongly condemns the actions of the private company Aperture, and its use of an illegally-built automated militia of heavily armed drones to attack the so far peaceful nation of Alder. The Council is placing the pressure for this incident not only on Aperture's high management, but the government of the United Septories of Vulcorian Ashlound for their inaction and inability to control the use of weapons of war by non-military institutions. At this point in time, The New Republic of Polestar will not engage in any direct action against the private company of Aperture---but should the USVA continue to allow Aperture's use of military-grade weaponry and troops, the private company Aperture will be labeled as a terrorist and international threat. At this point, under the New Republic's 'International Terrorist Suppression Act', military action will be carried out against the company of Aperture in an attempt to disarm and disable their privately-owned militia. In the event that the ITSA should be enacted against Aperture facilities stationed in USVA, a small amount of resistance from USVA's armed forces is expected. However, if the USVA should carry out a counterattack against the New Republic, or if the USVA actively defends militarized Aperture institutions, they will be labeled as a 'terrorist nation' and face the full brunt of the Polestarian Armed Forces. The New Republic of Polestar, however, does not wish any harm against the United Septories of Vulcorian Ashlound, and should they prove to be supportive of the New Republic's enactment of the ITSA, the New Republic will do everything in its power to work with the Vulcorian government to ensure full cooperation between sovereign nations." In light of this incident, the New Republic took the time to recognize the PAX Armada as a governmental entity, stating that "...the acquisition of land and the housing of citizens by the private company PAX Armada has led to the New Republic of Polestar's official recognition of the PAX Armada as an independent national entity. Any action taken by the PAX Armada's upper management will be treated with the same respect as a governmental decision by any other nation.
