"A very, very long Christmas in Eldridge..." (Or how twelve idiots found out people don't work, or do anything for that matter, on Jesus day) A silly first part to a rather drawn out TBOI fanfic about Isaac, Maggy, Cain, Eve, Judas, Sampson, Azazel, Lazarus, Lilith, Apollyon, Jacob, and Esau going on a little adventure around their small town of "Eldridge" on Christmas Day after having forgot to get each other presents. Sadly, I had to put it through the good old "dishwasher" to make sure it was clean enough for scratch, but it still has it's edge ;) Also, if you really want it, lemme know and I'll release the full, less clean version on a Google doc when it's fully done. >> This is only part 1, more story will be released if A) This gets enough traction and B) I can find the time. And yes, I have been writing this story since before Christmas break, how could you tell? XD If you have any questions about the story, characters, or literally ANYTHING please, please let me know, I'd love to answer them o7 Thanks for reading, and enjoy ^^
Once upon a Christmas day, in the quiet house where his friends lay. Sound asleep from the high night before, unaware of what’s in store. And as night turns to day, one of them gets up to say… “Enough of this whimsical rhyming cr*p!” Judas snapped, at whom? It was unknown, but what he would soon witness, would surely cause him to moan. (woah, PAUSE!). (Ok, ok, for real no more rhyming, I ain’t tryin’ to do that the entire story, plus I ran out of semi-decent rhymes.) And so the sun rose, and gave birth to a new day. It started the same way most disasters do, with lingering warmth and terrible planning. Judas, rubbed his temples, put on his coat and fez, and got up from his sleeping spot on the couch. The smell of alcohol and regret followed shortly, slowly. He made his way to the light switch on the other side of the living room, making sure to not step on anyone, eventually reaching the light switch. He flicked it on. “OHH FAAaahhh…” He startled, quickly calming down to avoid waking anyone else up. He continues, in a “lowercase yell” kind of way. “DUDE, what the hell are you doing? Why are you just standing there like that?” Judas questioned the once shadowy figure, who turned out to be their friend of few words, and even fewer thoughts. “No presents” Apollyon hollowed, pointing to the bottom of the Christmas tree, which in fact, had no presents. “Whah… what? Where’d they go? Well… Actually, I don’t think they were there before, I figured someone put all of them in some storage room or something, and that they would have been brought out by now. Well… I guess we should wake everyone up, to get to the bottom of this” Judas reasoned to himself, since Apollyon had seemingly disappeared into thin air the moment he had stopped paying attention to them. A little moment later, a sleeping cocoon made up of a large blanket and stolen pillows begins to shift, prompting Judas to act. “Eve’ll be up any moment now, I should start on making some coffee.” He made his way to the kitchen which, to his surprise, had a full pot already made (Thanks Apollyon). He came back to the living room, still puzzled about the lack of presents, handing a cup to the now sitting up Eve. She brushed her long black hair to the side as she rapidly blinked her dark eyes. No one could truly tell if the darkness around her eyes was due to a lack of rest, or makeup, but it never seemed to leave her. She took a moment to scan the environment appreciatively. The living room itslef wasn’t in tip top shape, plates with half eaten dollar store cookies and mini cupcakes filled just about most of every available table, and plastic cups filled with the cheapest eggnog one could find where scattered all over the place. The smell of festive pine cones, sugar, and something no one wants to say out loud lingering in the air. Admittedly, the place isn't looking great, but that didn't matter, at least not to Eve anyway. It was a almost picture perfect portrait of what had happened the night before, the time spent making memories with her favorite people on this planet, and the next (but she'd never tell anyone that out loud). She yawned, slithered her way out of her blanket cocoon and took a sip, then asked “What’s wrong Judas? You look worried, that’s not like you.” she teased with her usual soft spoken edge, resting her head against the leg of Judas closest to her. “The presents, they’re not under the tree, you wouldn’t have happened to have seen where they were at, right?” “Hmm… no. In fact, can I be honest with you, Judas? “Sure, what’s the deal?” “I forgot to get something for everyone.” “Hmm, that’s funny.” “What is?” “I did too.” “Huh?” “I forgot to get everyone a gift too.” Eve lifted her head, slowly guiding her gaze to Judas's, “You don’t think everyone else…” Judas looked at her blankly for a moment, quickly coming to the realization of what she was implying, he responded, “There’s no way, right?” He looked around, then back at her, Eve’s face now having a light paint of worry, he spoke up again, “Y’know what? Let's get to the bottom of this! EVERYONE UP!” He opened the window blinds and started throwing the blankets off of anyone still asleep. Eve rolled her eyes at Judas's brash nature, blankets flying off of once sound asleep, the once soothing silence turned into a fill of groans. Cain, who was sleeping on the other side of the couch, growled, “Dude, I get your excited for Christmas and all, but It’s eight in the freakin’ morning, couldn’t you have waited?” Lilith, who was sleeping next to Eve on the floor, chimed in and questioned, “Cain surprisingly has a good point-” “Hey!” “-It’s not like you to be so excited for this type of thing, maybe it was something else, what’s wrong?” Right as Judas opened his mouth to answer, someone burst out from the guest room connected to the living room... "Who was it," YOU may ask? Well that's something you can find out in PART TWO!
