After two wars with Yugoslavia, the collapse of NASM, and with many other wars in the world, the public became increasingly weary of the turbulence of Europe and the prospect of us potentially being dragged into a conflict. Eventually, the Merchants bloc would propose a bill increasing military spending, expanding the armed forces and the nation's defence capabilities, and funding new research. A massive recruitment effort would begin, and to convince people to join the military, we would increase wages and also improve the pension at the end of service. We would also repair the industries and infrastructure along the coast from after the 2nd Yugoslav war, since we've been putting it off for a while, and we also provide tax breaks and investments to local businesses and companies to help them get back on their feet.
