arrow keys to move the ball. a variable stores the first letter of the states of each movement key, so that a singular "if" statement can be used in a loop to check all four. Another "if" block is used to determine whether the button pressed would send the player towards the negative end of either axis. This could be replaced with more operator blocks. This actually uses way more blocks than a more normal method would. I have used a system similar to this in previous projects simply because I don't like setting up every "if" statement for the movement keys.
There is probably a lesson to be learned here
