(DISCLAIMER) This is not targeted towards anyone. This is a general issue that I’ve seen in spop. The thumb is me talking to myself again. ❤️ Enjoy my first s-tuber project! 1 - Intro I think we all know the spop trend that seems to never go away: “My opinions on S-pop.” Although many are harmless, and we are able to agree with the opinions, sometimes we are put in a situation where we disagree with what the person is saying. In this project will be discussing how to handle these situations properly. 2 - Opinions Vs. Being rude I think often, we mistake opinions for being able to say things that are hurtful. If you think that your opinion might harm someone, it’s best you don’t say it. Some signs of an opinion that might hurt someone is if the sentence begins or ends with “Not to be rude” or “Not to hate.” Heres an example of this: “Bobs music is too pop-py. They don’t deserve the love they get. Their music is just bad. Not to be rude though.” this is what I like to call excused hating. Excused hating is still hating, you’re just giving yourself a term that allows you to be rude because you’re saying an “opinion”. Now, there is a way you can still say an opinion that can be harmful without bringing hate. By being polite. If you have a real opinion (and your not trying to cause drama) on a topic, here’s a polite way you could say that: “In my opinion, Bobs music is not for me. I don’t like the genre of music that he does it in. You can still like him though. I still respect him and everyone.” 3 - Responding to said “opinion” If we really want to be in the music business, we’re always going to have to deal with hate or things that we disagree with. We need to learn how to properly respond to these things. Occasionally, there are some people who truthfully share their opinions that are considered controversial and unfortunately, the community does not deal with it in the correct way. I know that we love each other, and im all for (friendly) debates, but it gets to a point where it’s all to much. Can you give your opinion back? Sure. Does the entire community have to attack the person for the opinion? that’s a hard NO. There was a situation a while back that started with someone’s opinion that had to do with another spopper, and that person was driven out of the community because they were lead to belive it was a bad place. Whenever you have a rebuttal, remember to keep it polite, as I said earlier. We want this to be a safe space. 4 - How will this make the other person feel? I think that we’re all mostly teenagers, who go through things and hardships. But please, before you post, consider how this would make the other person feel. You never know what might push them to the edge. Words hurt. As someone who struggles with their mental health, I really don’t appreciate when people hate or share opinions that are harmful towards someone. Even if you’re not speaking directly about them, just be careful what you say. 5 - the rules This post is meant to encourage S-pop to take a stand. We can share opinions, but we have to make sure that it follows these rules: - is this truthful? do I really mean this opinion? - is this targeting someone in specific? - will this hurt people’s feelings or cause drama in the community? 6 - outro Thank you for reading this! I’m trying my best to prevent drama and be a good manager. I quite enjoy this place and hope we can make a change. Love yall! (No ai was used during this, I friggin hate ai)
