II. BASIC COMPONENTS These are the raw materials processed for use in other blueprints. 1. Sinew Thread Description: Strong, fibrous thread stripped from animal tendons. Source: Tundra-Strider or Wolf tendons. Process: Remove the tendon from the animal while fresh. Scrape away the outer sheath/membrane. Pound the tendon with a stone until it separates into thin, white fibers. Twist fibers together by rolling on your thigh with your paw. 2. Glue-Resin Description: A sticky, waterproof adhesive. Source: Spruce or Pine trees. Process: Collect sticky golden sap from tree bark. Melt over a low fire. Mix with a small amount of charcoal dust or ash to strengthen it. Apply hot. Dries rock hard. 3. Waterproof Leather Description: Hide treated to repel water. Source: Crag-Back Seal or Boar hide. Process: Stretch the hide on a frame. Scrape all fat and flesh off. Rub animal brains or liver into the skin (tanning). Smoke the hide over a fire to seal the pores.
