Today, I decided to do some halter training with snowy. I brought her to the arena, and we did some laps around the fence. She was doing great, I was about to do another round but then a bird FLEW out over snowy, and she freaked out. She turned and started galloping around the arena, and eventually, my foot tripped on a rock and I fell, face first and dropped the lead rope. After I fell, snowy trotted off to a corner of the arena and just stood there, nudging the fence. (Start of off screen stuff) After I asked Quentin to secure snowy to the fence, I went to the house to do a quick shower and change my pants ( it got scraped by the sand ). After that, I got an apple and went back to snowy. (Just so u know, Quentin untied her as soon as he saw me and she was still butting the fence.) (End of off screen stuff) I put the apple out and let her sniff it. She was interested because she immediately started twitching her nose and she turned towards me. After a few hesitant steps, she walked over and started eating the apple. (Some off screen stuff again) After she finished, I did one more round and led her back to the stables and gave her some water. (I took off her halter.) she looked at me like “can you give me another apple?” And started drinking the water. If I could choose a discipline for her, I will definitely choose western or racing. I am looking forward to more updates with her, (and less falls). (End of update)
