I wanted to take Atlas out today to see how he is moving and how well he has learned the "rules of the Roundpen" I just wanted to do about 20 minutes or less of work at the canter, when Atlas is at the canter he truly does think better and I think that that forward motion is really great for sessions like this. Once he was moving freely and yielding his ribcage I went ahead and had him listen to me and the whip. He did wonderful but the really hard part with him is switching directions, when I switched the whip in front of him he gave me a giant sassy rear but eventually figured it out. When he had accomplished the turn around I started letting him slow down and come back in to me for reward pets! All in all a great session!
