Barnacle goose --------------------- Serpanser cirripedus --------------------- Barnacle geese are snavians which live on coasts, boring into rocks as chicks, where they will then spend the rest of their lives outside of the mating season. During low tide, they rest inside their burrow, occasionally exiting to snap at passersby, although generally in a state of torpidity or sleep until high tide, when they will feed on marine organisms which get too close. Despite being territorial, they live in colonies and will often fight any "opponents" which they see, although never actually bothering enough to leave their burrow and usually getting pretty bored after a while, until they see each other again. With their acidic saliva, they can continue to expand their burrow if they must. Upon death, they will drop Barnacle goose, which contributes to protein intake. It will almost indefinitely get you sick raw, however. (that is a marking btw :P )
