✧ The Light Between Us ✧ ☆•° Chapter 1 °•☆ I wiped my hands on my sky-blue hoodie and gripped the box. The Eye of the Sheikah stared at me from the box's label, as if warning me not to drop the contents. Of course I wouldn't drop it. These were Sheikah Slates+ - the latest innovation of Ancient Tech. Purah would literally kill me if I did. I groaned under the weight of the box, stumbling down the aisles stocked with top-notch Ancient Tech creations. These new Slates were really heavy. I glanced up. A sign directed me to Aisle 3, where all the brand-new tech was displayed. I inched forward, careful not to jostle the Slates. A drop of sweat trickled down my forehead. These slates were unusually heavy. It was like a whole guidance stone had been stuffed into the box. "Excuse me," someone suddenly said from behind, startling me. "AUGH!!" I yelled, nearly dropping the box. "I'm sorry," the person said. I turned around, coming face to face with a blond Hylian boy about my age. "You- you scared me," I said, not sure what else to say. "Sorry," he repeated sheepishly. "You just looked like you know about this place." I looked down at my clothes. A tag on my hoodie said plainly: 'Hi, my name is Zelda. Working with Ancient Tech for 3 years.' It kind of made it look like I was a product, not an employee. "Yea- um- I work here," I answered. "Great! So you know where the new Sheikah Slates + are?" he asked. "I actually have some here in this box," I said. "Oh!" He smiled. He had kind of a cute smile. "Uh- they look heavy. Let me help you with that." "Thanks," I said gratefully and dumped the box onto him, glad to be rid of the load. He staggered, then caught his balance. "So, where to?" he asked. "This way. Follow me," I replied. It was astonishing how light I felt after being relieved of that box. I nearly skipped to Aisle 3. "Here we are," I said. The boy placed the box on the ground gently and flexed his fingers. "Either there were a million Slates in there, or they're super heavy," he mumbled. "Thanks for helping me out- um..." I trailed off. "Link," he finished. My heart thumped in my chest. I had heard that name before- in history class. A legendary knight destined to protect the princess of Hyrule. "What's yours- oh." He laughed as he read the tag on my hoodie. "Zelda. Wait a sec-" Link's eyes widened and he stared at me. "Y-your name's Zelda?" I blushed. "Yes." Link dropped to one knee, shock evident on his face. "Your majesty," he said. ☆•° Chapter 2 °•☆ https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1287725557/ ✧ Note ✧ This is my first fanfic, so please don't judge or anything. I would love to hear your feedback.
