who wants a nommy story for bed :3 !! warnings: horror theme !! It was 11:22 pm. I finished my shift and was walking down the grimy streets of the restless city. Cars were honking and zooming past me, their headlights streaking the pavement in bursts of yellow and white. People wearing fancy scarves and expensive shoes chattered quietly in front of me, hand in hand, smiles plastered on their faces, unaware of anything beyond themselves and their small, glittering universe. I buried my hands into my coat, realizing I forgot my only scarf at my shift. The chilly autumn air gnawed at my skin, making my nose and ears tingle with cold. Thankfully, I hadn't forgotten my gloves, warm but worn out with age. Suddenly, I felt the hairs on my neck prickle. I stopped in my tracks, feeling queasy, as if someone was watching me from where I couldn't see them. I sighed and started walking again. "It must be the lack of sleep"… I mumbled to myself... "should probably start taking melatonin again like he recommended." I zoned out as I walked. The sound of people laughing and cars honking dulled into a steady hum, and the repetition of my foot hitting against the concrete centered in my mind. It was a thick kind of quiet, like I was underwater. It was peaceful, until I heard something strange that intruded on my little moment. The sound was also footsteps, and they were timed almost exactly like mine. However, they definitely weren't mine. I listened in closer. My step, the other step. Mine, the other. Mine, the other. I stopped, and it stopped as well, probably only half a second later than mine. I turned around abruptly, but no one was there. Only a couple, slightly startled with how fast I turned, started whispering to themselves as they passed by, their judgy eyes never meeting mine. I felt my heart starting to thud against my chest, the pulse pounding in my ears. I must have been mistaken again, there was no one following me. I anxiously started walking forward again, my eyes scanning my surroundings. I took my hands out of my pocket and in them I clasped my phone, just in case. I turned the corner and was startled by my own reflection, only to quickly calm myself seeing it was just a store window. I looked to the streets again, but something electrically cold and weightless suddenly crept upon my left shoulder. My reflection caught my eye again, and my short-lived relief instantly vanished. A tall, humanoid figure, captured in the reflection’s horizon, stood ominously behind me, way too close to my stiff body. It stood motionlessly, its fingers spread wide, suspended in the air, just barely lingering over my shoulder. the end :3 feedback is always welcomed ! #writing
