The tides rung in his ears.. Wind ruffling his fur.. The eerie quietness of the woods was unsettling.. Sharkpaw had gone out to hunt in the woods of Urchinclan territory, finding it very unsettling when he couldn't hear any of the usual noises that came with stepping into the forest. Bird's songs had died away as the night started to creep in. Sharkpaw hadn't been out hunting at night yet, finding it hard to succumb to sleep, he slipped out silently, making sure not to disturb any other cat. He had figured that there'd be at least somewhat more prey, or noise at the very least, out at night, but he guessed they were curled up in their dens as well. Continuing his trek through the brush, paws carefully being placed down inches from branches, keeping up his silent stalk. Sharkpaw kept his ears pricked, mouth open, as he searched for any scent or noise that wasn't his throughout the thick forest plants. The young apprentice soon came across a clearing, a small, barely there pond rested on the edge of the clearing, it must've formed during rainfall he figured. With the moon shining down through the thick canopy, it gave light into the clearing, allowing him to see better. Upon better inspection, he could see a small family of ducks nestled down on the bank of the pond, sleeping soundly. Blinking, the grey tom stalked closer to the family, getting ready to pounce, claws unsheathed, when something caught his eye. Flittered all around the grass, was duck feathers of all different shapes, patterns, and colors. Against his better judgement, abandoning the easy hunt on the ducks, he stalked around the clearing, peering down at feathers as he passed, they were all perfectly shaped, barely disturbed. Then, Sharkpaw came across a set of feathers, they were some of the prettiest he's ever seen. Scooping them up with his paw, he inspected them for a moment before brining them up to his ear, stuffing them there and making sure they wouldn't fall before moving on. Gaze focused back on the ducks, he silently got closer, about a tails length away now before he pounced, teeth sinking into its flesh, delivering the killing bite. As the ducks blood coated his muzzle, teeth sinking in more, he felt the duck go limp from the little tension it had built. Standing up and watching the remaining ducks waddle away quickly, turning around, he started his slow journey back to camp, slipping in and setting it onto the prey pile, he sighed. After he had finished washing the blood off of his muzzle, he stalked into the apprentices den, finding his nest and sinking into it, waiting for sleep to claim him. feathers are from the duck species Marbled Duck! hello! Before you tell me, I am aware that you aren't able to put feathers by ears, ankles, and bunched at the tails but I do have permission from fal since my tribe does use feathers, as seen here: [[was asked by a friend]]
