hey! I thought it would be fun to make a project explaining the Wicca holidays, or Sabbats. (don't worry, i'm not going all religious on y'all). *The 8 Wiccan Sabbats (also known as the Wheel of the Year)* First up we have Samhain! You know it as Halloween. We celebrate on October 31 and November 1. It is also known as the Witches New Year. It honors ancestors and celebrates the end of harvest. Yule! This is basically Christmas lol. It is celebrated on December 20 to Dec 23. Basically celebrates the sun and it being the longest night. Also called the Winter Solstice. Imbolc- February 1st/2nd. To be honest, I don't rly celebrate Imbolc so idk much about it. It celebrates spring and Brigid, a goddess. That's all I know :/ Next is Ostara, which is celebrated from March 19th-21. Also known as the Spring Equinox, it celebrates the awakening of the earth and renewal. Beltane is my favorite Sabbat. It occurs on April 30th/May 1st. It's a fire festival/celebration celebrating summer, joy and passion. Litha is the Summer Solstice celebration thing. June 20th-June 22nd. It marks the peak of the sun’s power, the longest day, and the beginning of the shortening of days. Lammas/Lughnasadh is celebrated from August 1st to Aug 2nd. It's a harvest festival, and we honor the celtic god Lugh. Finally, my second fav, Mabon. It occurs during the Autumn Equinox, from September 21st-24th. It's the second harvest, and preparing for the darker half of the year. I hope you enjoyed (?) learning abt my religion, bye ig! ~lyra
