Late afternoon February 22, eastern Landish insurgents attacked the Jensen airbase. It started with dozens of drones crashing into building and vehicles, then exploding. SUVs and vans then arrived on the ground, with armed gunmen stepping out and opening fire on the guards and the airmen. Across the base, the army component gathered their bearings and sent a tank and a platoon to go investigate. As the MBT crossed the runway, it was hit by a rocket propelled grenade and exploded. The base commander, believing it was a full on military assault radioed the capital with the news. Erik Christensen was evacuated to an undisclosed location, and he expected to make a remote press conference later this week. The insurgents detonated fuel stores and retreated, after killing hundreds.
