Next one's real life man Seventh period Math, he sat behind me Always the first to finish, always care-free While I circled answers, erased and rethought He'd lean back, relaxed- never seemed overwroght. He'd talk about games- loud, excited, proud I'd listen in silence, pencil in hand Wishing I knew enough to understand He didn't like anyone- not that I knew But I still hoped he'd notice me too I never passed a note,, never made a move Just smiled when I spoke, tried to stay in his groove I stayed his friend, laughed at his jokes [Which were suprisingly funny] Even when my heart felt the cracks and pokes It hurts, I learned, when it's quiet & shy When the boy behind you never asks why
From my time in middle school in 6th grade
