Long ago, the world lived peacefully. Children grew up with no worries, freely wandering the tallest hills and the lowest valleys. Until one day, the monsters came. Mysterious kidnappings were reported. The police didn't know whether to round up people for questioning or to search for the criminals. In the end, they did both. They found nothing. Months of this chaos followed, to no avail. Angry parents demanded searches for their children. The police did their best, but found nothing no one. But one day, it stopped. There were no kidnappings. That, we give thanks to the spirit animals. Turns out, humans have a .05% chance of having a bit of...magic in them. A lab discovered these were the only people who could stop the monsters and went out to find them. Months of searching, until one day, they found the hidden town. To this day, the town is abandoned and they live somewhere else, farther away and even more hidden from human eyes. But, that's just a myth. I'll let you decide if it's real or not. Goodnight, sleep tight, and, please, try not to let any monsters in. :)
