You should probably read that project before this one also to get a bit more information on Torrentflower and Cricketcall! This is a huge amalgamation of every piece of recent (confirmed, excluding the actual theory part and parts where other theory projects are mentioned) gens lore I've learned so far and how it might click together, so it's mostly a lot of explaining lore and information :') [that's mostly why it's called a /very big/ gens theory and not just...a gens theory lol) But there /is/ an actual theory in this all ok trust me!! :sob: And even more than one too!! For a bit of backstory, I was reading all of the recent gens lore theories (because why not), when I suddenly realized I remembered something about Delphine I learned a while ago. I didn't know exactly /what/, but yeah, I definitely remembered something. I scrambled through a bunch of old theory projects, until eventually I came across the one I'd been remembering (the life and death deities theory by @Dragon-Clouds). ...And WOW. This thread occurred about 2 years ago (and it was recovered by @_belle-! shoutout to yenisei!) in the UrchinClan studio. It miight've been the beach studio at the time, before uc was formed? I'll need confirmation on that one though idk. It depicts an unknown cat walking through the long abandoned CoastClan camp, angrily realizing it's been trifled with by the modern clans. There is little to no physical descriptors given for this cat (other than the fact she is tall), and it is quickly revealed she is an immortal. She is also revealed to be a member of a group protecting the deity of life (Torrent/Torrentflower), and that there is an opposite group, protecting the deity of death (Cricket/Cricketcall). This cat also seems to care very much about old clans' history, and it being tainted... -- Click next again! (a comparison of a section of the delphine's mc project desc, and an excerpt from the beach thread) So, who do we know who's lived a long time, cares a lot about history, and is tall? Hmm... ... ...Yeah, it's Delphine. And there's even proof to this! Click next once again before reading --- In this comment (shoutout to yenisei again!), [ ], Delphine is confirmed to be the /leader/ of the group protecting the life power of Torrent/Torrentflower. This immediately reveals one of the biggest mysteries of Delphine, which is where she actually comes from! It's quite fitting, considering that she kind of...single-handedly brought MossClan back to life lol. Also, the fact that Delphine is a member of an undisclosed group is even further confirmed in her npc bio! That question mark /is/ awfully suspicious...just saying... So that clears up that mystery! But, there's yet another question unlocked! Click next before reading --- [ This section heavily references information learned from this theory project: Just stuff from the forwarded messages from lux since those are confirmed things, but check it out anyways yay! ] An important piece of information for this theory is that Delphine's soul is cursed, due to having wronged a god somehow (specifically, this is likely the deceased goddess Soul, considering I believe soul is the only one confirmed to be...y'know dead and stuff), which is what we'll be talking about in this section of the project! Soul is the deceased mother of Torrent and Cricket (I can't remember if this is confirmed anywhere in particular, but even if it's not, it's heavily implied in this comment during an rp involving the two due to aforementioned reasons). As also talked about previously and in this thread, Torrent is a semi-deity of life, and Cricket is a semi-deity of death. And as said in dragon's theory, Morningstar gained her powers through being descended from Cricket! Locrypt may very well be the aforementioned group protecting Cricket's powers, but this is not confirmed as of now. Though for the sake of making things simpler right now...let's say they are! If Torrent and Cricket are siblings (who seem to be on decent terms with each other in the one thread we have involving them) with Soul being their mother, and Delphine is in the group helping to protect Torrent's (Soul's daughter) powers... Why would Soul have any qualms with Delphine in the first place? [+]
[+] Click next again --- An interesting theory is that Delphine is the leader of the group due to wanting to make up for offending Soul. This is plausible! But, there could be another reason! And even with all of this crazy build up and lore I've talked about this whole time, it's actually quite simple! (...and it probably has been thought of before too lol but that's besides the point!!) What if instead of doing it because of her own reasons, Delphine was /forced/ to take lead of Torrent's group as punishment for offending Soul? (as well as like...other stuff of course but that isn't what this theory is about ok) This is pretty plausible, with what little else we know! There's a few missing dots to connect still, but you can hopefullyy still see the vision right? I might update this if we get more information to support/deny this theory, but it'll probably be in a sequel instead of being in the same project. Click next again --- And as a little finale, here's something else I learned! As possibly hinted towards by a piece of information I gained during the locrypt event (not specifically by me, Bluefire learned it irp and I saw a few other people talk about this before when we still had the lore section in the oorp chat)...maybe Torrent and Cricket don't have such a great relationship after all. During week 2 of locrypt (or at least I think it was week 2?), Bug and Grub were playing a game. They both argued over whether who was going to be Torrent or Cricket, with neither one wanting to be Torrent (because of cooties, but that's not important lol) I can't remember exactly what the game was about exactly, but if I'm remembering this correctly, it seemed to be about a fight or a fallout between the two. I mean, it kinda seems like it would be inevitable with the two arguing constantly, but I don't believe it was previously known that they ever had any actual fight. Also, locrypt prohibits bugs! I take this as a sign of worship towards Cricket. But even more importantly so, they prohibit flowers! Do you know who happens to have -flower as a suffix? Hmm... This could very well /also/ be a sign of worship but...eh. I just feel like maybe not, y'know? It feels more so like a petty sibling rivalry thing to me. Click next --- So, in conclusion, there is lowkey a bunch of stuff going on! Delphine is the leader of the torrent group, locrypt might be the cricket group, Torrent and Cricket don't like each other, soul might have forced delphine to be leader of the life group, and a bunch of other stuff!
