Questioning fate.

You can leave. If that’s what you need to do, then go. I won’t stop you. But don’t pretend this is some kind of moral awakening. Don’t pretend you just discovered something was wrong. We all knew what the experiment was. We reviewed it. We debated it. We signed off on it. It was a mental stress test. Controlled perception distortion. Cognitive pressure mapping. Nothing supernatural. Nothing hidden. Just psychology. Just code. Just a Scratch simulation designed to see how far belief bends before it fractures. And it worked. That’s what scares you. It worked. You’re not afraid because Billy lied. You’re afraid because he was right. He said the mind could be nudged with subtle inconsistencies. Small pattern breaks. Repetition. Delay. Contradiction. We laughed at first. Called it clever. But then— Then you started second-guessing yourself. We all did. You paused before finishing sentences. You replayed conversations in your head. You checked details twice. And suddenly the room didn’t feel as solid as it used to. But that doesn’t mean the DRF failed. It means the test succeeded. We exist to test limits. That’s what we do. We don’t shy away when something makes us uncomfortable. We analyze it. We refine it. We master it. That’s why I’m staying. Because walking away now would mean admitting we can’t handle the results of our own work. And I can handle it. I can. …Right? Because this is just awareness. That’s all. Awareness that perception can be influenced. That certainty can be constructed. That confidence isn’t the same as truth. That’s not collapse. That’s growth. Isn’t it? Billy didn’t break reality. He revealed how easily it can be interpreted differently. There’s a difference. A huge difference. We’re scientists. Researchers. Thinkers. We don’t fall apart just because our assumptions get shaken. We adapt. We— …We adapt. So why does it feel like something’s off? Not out there. In here. Why do I keep replaying the first session in my head? Why do I remember the background color changing… but when I check the logs, it says it didn’t? That’s just suggestion. That’s the aftereffect. That’s normal after cognitive strain. Right? Billy said there would be residual doubt for a few days. He said awareness would settle it. It’s settling. It has to be settling. Because if it’s not— No. It is. This is exactly why the DRF matters. Because if something destabilizes us, we study it until it doesn’t. People leaving doesn’t mean we’re broken. It means they weren’t ready. I’m ready. I’m staying. Even if my memory feels slightly… thinner. Even if I hesitate before saying I’m certain. Even if sometimes I can’t tell whether the doubt I’m feeling is a result of the experiment— Or the point of it. Because that’s what this was about, wasn’t it? Proving that doubt can be introduced. Sustained. Measured. And if that’s true… Then how do I know this speech isn’t just another ripple? How do I know this loyalty is mine and not a reaction to pressure? No. No. I’m choosing this. I am. The DRF doesn’t fall because it gets shaken. It stands because it withstands it. And I— …I’m still standing. Even if the ground feels a little less solid than it used to.
