Update: I may not listen to your auditon right away, but i am saving every single one to listen to later! Also please comment links if you do music. I have been working on the concepts, themes, characters, and world of Pick Up a Pencil for the last couple of months! In 2026 I would really like to get out of the THINKING ABOUT IT stage and into the MAKING IT stage! So I present to you the voice actor and singing auditions for PICK UP A PENCIL (PUP for short!) What’s the show about? PICK UP A PENCIL is going to be a children's show, focused on promoting art and creativity. The show is about art, but also about growing up and finding your place in the world. The main character is Caterpup, who when he hatches from his cocoon is desperate for a purpose. When he learns that Caterpillars turn into butterflies, that becomes his goal, and he believes art may be the way to get there. Follow Caterpup, his best friend Tammy, and a lot of other colorful and silly animals in the colorful and silly town called Bigworld! (Big world is inspired by Richard Scarrys Busy Town and Sesame Street) I’d really like to make a mixed media show where some parts are animated and some parts are puppets. Some backgrounds may be real footage and some may be drawn. I also would like each episode to have songs and segments featuring artists and little doodle tutorials! What am I looking for? I’m looking for voice actors, singers and anyone with musical talent of any skill-set. It is completely fine if you are a beginner! I don’t have any particular voices in mind for any of the characters, and you can be any gender no matter what the gender the character your auditioning for is. YOU CAN: Audition for multiple or even all characters Audition to ONLY be the singing voice of a character Audition to ONLY be the speaking voice of a character Include voice acting/singing work you’ve done that is not related to this project in your remix Use any kind of voice! (Or include multiple different voices you can do) Sing any song in your audition! > (IMPORTANT) > This audition is not really an audition for the character, but an audition to be involved in the show. I put characters i’d like to look for the voices for, but if I like your voice there is a lot of other characters in this episode and other episodes I may want you to be instead! In your audition please include: The lines of one or more characters that you are auditioning for Whether you are willing to sing or not If you are willing to sing please include you singing! For singers I did put some fun little songs I like in the sounds, as examples of songs you can sing. You do not have to sing these, and you can sing any song you like. If you are someone who makes music or plays an instrument, please comment down below and send me some of your songs you have made! I’d be really interested in working with you to create songs for the show! Also any artists of any medium or talent, you can let me know if you'd like to be involved! for the drawing segment in each episode I'd like to feature artists!
