Welcome to the third instalment of my poetry series: the War Between Frogs and Mice or, Batrachomyomachia. 8+ MENTIONS OF BLOOD, VIOLENCE, AND DEATH!
Part III: The War Begins The frogs heard and marched in, Prepared for war and made a din, The mice dressed in cloaks of leaf, Armed with whittled sticks and sharpened teeth, Sounded the gong, And with a bang, Began the crashing of the land. Bodies fells and legs crippled, Blood stained the muddy sand. The frogs began hurtling rocks around, And formed a a pile of the bodies found, A mound of death, The mice jumped out from the bloody hillock, And stayed the frogs one by one, To avenge the death of the king’s murdered son. Mice skulls cracked and bodies drowned, And the king was killed also. Who was next to be crowned?
