April showers bring May flowers, and we’re super excited to start this rain-themed session with you <33 If you’re looking to (co)lead a cabin this time around, you’re in the right place! If the project doesn't load on your device for whatever reason, feel free to reference the text version here <3 (link tba) Keep in mind that your app should still be a remix of this project to count! ꒷꒦ ⌒⌒ ˗ˏˋ ☂︎ ˎˊ˗ ⌒⌒ ꒦꒷ ☂︎ :「 FAQ 」 “So… what is SDC?” Scratch Design Camp, or simply SDC, is a triannual virtual camp which runs in April, August, and December, right here on Scratch! This camp was created as a place for like-minded individuals to engage in a month filled with fun activities, friendly competition, and also serves as a platform for learning and continuous improvement <3 ┈┈ “What are the responsibilities of a (co)leader?” (Co)Leaders should: ◦ Maintain a healthy balance between camp and real life, as well as encouraging campers to do the same ◦ Contribute to the planning and development of your cabin ◦ Oversee the cabin and address any questions that campers may have. If you are unsure of your answer, direct the question to the host(s) ◦ Update cabin minute counts every so often, and be responsible for totalling up counts at the end of the session ┈┈ “How do I apply?” Simply remix this project with your answers! Most apps incorporate a theme featuring redesigned slides, but this is by no means compulsory. Text-based apps are completely acceptable, but do keep in mind that this is a design camp and so apps are also judged on the creativity factor ^^ Don’t worry about it having to be perfect and polished though, this extra touch is mainly to showcase your personality! ┈┈ “What are the cabins?” The cabin lineup each session is decided based off leader app interest and/or the session theme - this session, there will be four cabins, each a specific type of design inspired by the members of the unit that sang this song. ◦ Sound Design ◦ Interior Design ◦ Graphic Design ◦ Fashion Design Please note that these are only names, and they DO NOT restrict the type of designing you can do in each cabin!! Leaders and cos will be in charge deciding on how to theme the cabin - It’d be amazing if you could leave ideas of what your cabin might look like when stating preferences <3 ┈┈ “I've never led in a previous camp before, nor had much leading experience outside of Scratch. Would that affect my chances of getting selected?” Like most other camps, leaders will be selected based off answer quality and honesty, as well as creativity in your apps. However, having more prior leading experience does not put you at a significantly higher spot when applying- especially in smaller camps, we always like to offer opportunities to those who haven’t had a chance somewhere else. ┈┈ “Can I apply if I’ve never participated in SDC at all?” Of course! Anyone and everyone is welcome to apply, though we do suggest having a bit of experience in SDC or other Scratch camps, just to better prepare you for what to expect during the session <3 ┈┈ “Do we have co-leaders?” As we are a smaller camp, we cannot guarantee having co-leaders in every cabin, although you can always choose to make your application for co-leader only by checking off the box on the last question ^^ Similarly, leaders will be able to choose whether they want one co or no cos at all, so some cabins might end up with cos and some without. ꒷꒦ ⌒⌒ ˗ˏˋ ☂︎ ˎˊ˗ ⌒⌒ ꒦꒷
