[ Vee, 11:53 PM, Easter Floor ] The floor was cold beneath my feet. Leaves and flowers crunched under me as I stepped through the grassy area of the spring floor, while my eyes searched for a specific brown basket. It was dark, but thankfully, I had night vision installed. I heard shallow breathing from nearby. I hurriedly turned around, and Bassie Bloomington was standing directly behind me. Her eyes looked afraid, but also confident. Why did she call me here...? "Vee Version 1." she murmured. "It's good that you decided to meet me." Her lips curved into a smug grin. I stared at her, studying her uncomfortable posture. Usually, she looked softer. Less rigid, so to speak. Today, though, it was like I was looking at an alternate version of Easter's main character. She grabbed the bag around her arms more tightly, as if it were about to fall off. (It wasn't.) "Well, if you're so urgent to see me about important matters, then why don't you get straight to it?" I replied, crossing my arms and looking at her expectantly. She chuckled lightly. "Very well." I noticed her hands were shifting unnaturally. Her arms were extending, splitting off into pieces and twisting around. They deepened into being black as pitch, dipped in a substance that was unmistakable. Ichor. Suddenly, her hand shot forward and grabbed me by the neck. Fortunately, I couldn't be choked, but it was still intolerable. "I need you to do a favor for me, Vee." Bassie whispered, bringing me so close to her that my screen was practically touching her forehead. Somewhat disgusted, I pulled my head back. "Well, what is it?" I snapped. "Just ask me, you don't have to do... whatever this is!" Squirming, I tried to pull her grotesque arms off of me. She dropped me pitifully, laughing at me. "I just wasn't sure you'd comply without being threatened." Bassie mused, not looking me in the eye, and instead watching as my tail nervously waved from side to side. I stayed silent, allowing her to continue. Bassie cleared her throat and began pacing back and forth in front of me. "You see, I've noticed that Dandy is talked about differently in Delilah's notes." "You- YOU SNUCK INTO DELILAH'S ROOM?!" I shouted, surprised. I didn't know Bassie liked breaking rules, and I didn't know she even knew where Delilah's room was! Bassie nodded. "I asked Dandy where it was, and he told me, saying it wouldn't even matter since I didn't know the passcode. I suppose he didn't realize that I already had overheard it from a Toon Handler and could enter." she smiled. "Anyways, I went in, found her computer, and realized Toons have two main components. The ichor that makes up their body, and the code that controls their memories, personalities, instincts, etcetera." I already knew about that. "And...?" "And well, I noticed Dandy's code was different. It allowed him to Twist at will, while ours doesn't." Bassie said. "I changed my code, so now I'm like him. Well, not like HIM anymore. I removed it from his code, of course~!" I remained silent. "Naturally, I detest being an easily replaceable Holiday main character. So, Vee, I want you to change that for me." Bassie said. "And how would I do that?" I asked, even though I kinda already had an idea of what she wanted. "Rewrite the code, of course." Bassie looked around, making sure nobody was listening into our conversation. "I know the Toon's memories are in their code, I just don't have the capabilities to change it. I want Dandy's World to become Bassie's World." I stepped back slowly. This isn't putting me in a good position. "You will rewrite every Toon's memories, make them match what I want them to be, and delete their old memories of Dandy's World existing." "That would take days, even weeks!" I protested, beginning to be annoyed by what Bassie thought I was willing to do. "Precisely. Before you start coding, you'll make it so they all black out for a few months. That'll give you time to code peacefully, and give me time to..." Bassie paused. "Well, you don't need to know, do you?" I sighed. She'd force me to do all this work for her, and not even tell me all the details? Whatever. I'd rather do this than be dead, unable to talk to anybody again. "Fine. Fine!" "Perfect." Bassie nodded. "For your own code, you'll simply black out after you code yourself too, right? But of course, you must code yourself last." "You're instructing me like a child." I snapped. People thought just because of me being a "robot", that I needed to have everything explained to me. But I probably was smarter than them! "Sorry. I just wasn't sure you'd get it." Bassie shrugged. "Well then, get to work!" "Right now??" I groaned. "But my battery is low, I'm gonna—" Bassie opened the bag around her shoulder. Inside were enough batteries to last me a month. I frowned. I was trying to be allowed to leave to "get some batteries", but I guess she knew I would be trying to do that... +
+ I hesitated before opening the coding page. When I did, the usual interface appeared. It was bright green and rectangular. The code was written in a language only I could understand on here, which was what I set it to be. After all, I can comprehend any language. I looked around, seeing that she had left, having put the bag of batteries beside me. Since I was standing in the middle of a dark room, I decided to walk into a smaller area before starting. After getting into a comfy spot, I entered the Toon's code. I noticed Bassie had left a note at the top. It read things about which Toons she wanted to play each Main role. I noticed she had left which Toon would be taking my role blank, and I assumed she left it blank so I could choose. I entered the name of my choice, and really, REALLY hoped she would do me justice. And then, I got to work. ——————————————————————— Author's note: i haven't really written very much recently, sorry it's not the best. i tried to make bassie and vee not seem edgy, haha. if you read it, though, thanks lots!! as long as people actually like this and it doesn't flop, maybe I'll release the rest. ^ ω ^ PREVIOUS: It's the first chapter '__' NEXT: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1275315019/ SONG FROM: Stomach Book THUMBNAIL BY: @OofishVariable Dandy's World and its characters belong to BrushCrunch Studios ^__^ let me write in PEACE.... https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/51338397 https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1285122865/ (Pings can be requested on any chapter, my chatroom, or in the Bassie's World Studio.)
