Your only requirements are that you sit still and look pretty.” The Mind’s hand was malfunctioning again, nervousness overriding other protocols. “I not only must need to convince why they need Chonny, but also be a valuable asset and not combust mid-interview.” “Don’t worry! At least you’re gonna look cute doing it!” “Heart. You are blind. That does not do a successful job in helping nerves.” The Mind’s voice modulator sighed; a soft static sound surrounded the siblings. “Well, you asked for help with the zipper… I bet it looks pretty!” The Heart smiled warmly, the kind of smile one would find at a fireplace. The angel’s wings even fluttered a bit in excitement. “Are you going to be fronting, or Soul? Or do we not have the info?” “I currently do not have the data on who is going to be fronting for the interview, no. However, I do see it as logical to have Soul front while I co-front, I hope he believes the same.” The Mind adjusted the glove on his hand. The Mind always too formal for anything, but the brothers have gotten used to it and have started to enjoy it in a way. “You two are gonna do great!” The Heart cheered, letting The Mind’s hair down, almost as an instinct. “Also keep your hair down, it’s more professional.” The Mind didn’t respond verbally, just a few small beeps in Morse code for “Y”. The Soul’s head popped through a wall, a cheesy grin on his face. “Hi~!!!” “Good afternoon.” The Mind deadpanned, looking back to The Heart who chirped while tying the ribbon in the back. “Juno says good morning as well.” “Afternoon.” The Soul corrected, phasing the rest of his body through the wall. “Translation error.” “Great.” The Soul sighed softly, adjusting the cuffs on his sleeves. “This is gonna be the best damn interview of our sad, pathetic lives.” The Soul glanced at The Mind for a moment, his smirk widening. It was a pretty Halter branded dress, black satin wrapping around joints and waist. “Also clock it, icon.” “Pardon?” There was a beat of silence, The Soul just look expectantly at The Heart. The only sound was the soft rustling of The Mind adjusting a lone glove. Out of nowhere, the two older brothers burst into laughter, The Soul being driven to pure tears, even. “DEAR GOD—” Someone slammed a table with their fist, the laughter not dying down. “A-AND THE- THE-!!” The Heart gasped, clutching his stomach.
“What is so humorous?” The Mind whipped his head around, glancing over to The Heart who was doubling over. “Was it something I responded with?” “No, no, no, Mind, define ‘clock it’.” The Soul crossed his arms, forcing down the laughter bubbling in his chest. “I unfortunately do not have that in my database.” The Mind rubbed his arm, running his thumb over the ball jointed elbow. “May I be updated on this new definition?” The hair fell in his eyes a bit, the oil rushing to his cheeks and making his face darken. The cord tail swung low, almost hitting The Heart a few times. “You’ll find out later.” The Soul adjusted The Mind’s hair a bit, pushing it out of his face. “We’re gonna do so freakin’ well.” “Question, we’re in Chonny’s head, why’re we also getting ready?” The Heart sat up a bit on the sofa, gripping The Mind’s tail so it didn’t hit him. “I mean, it’s not like—” “SHUT.” The Soul hissed, eyes narrowing. “Because we are him, just his emotions, logic and personality~!!” The entity purred, flipping upside down as his general vicinity bugged out. “You wouldn’t bring a casual Heart to a formal event, would you?” “It is quite logical.” The Mind stated blandly, looking to his emotional counterpart. If The Heart’s eyes weren’t under the blindfold, he likely would have narrowed his eyes at the automaton. “You’re just saying that so you can wear a dress, aren’t you?” “I can wear a dress any time I would like to.” The Mind crossed his arms, shifting his weight to one foot. “Do you have an issue with that?” “No.” The Heart’s lips pursed into a straight like, backing up from the rage building up inside his comrade “I’m just sayin’ that you don’t gotta dress so—” “Shut. Up.” The Mind’s voice modulator buzzed, a nasty side-eye was given, even if The Heart couldn’t see. “There is approximately a 64% chance you would have done the same.” “Damn.” The Heart whispered, folding himself into his wings. “Don’t act stupid over this crap.” The Soul filed his nails, glancing back at his younger siblings. There was a wide grin on his face, poorly straightened then curled hair was falling like a waterfall. “It’s not like he’s fronting anyways.” The Mind silently celebrated, a small huff imitating a ‘yes!’. He shifted his weight once more, crossing his arms. “So, if I have permission to assume you are fronting?” “Yeah.” The Soul flipped right side up, running a hand through his locks. “You’re the co. Don’t fight this.” “I am not ‘fighting’ it.” The Mind contently hummed; a subtle smile stretched across his face. “I believe you made the right choice, in fact.” Either to rub it in and be even more annoying than he was, or just to gather The Heart’s attention, there was a gentle kick to the angel’s shin. “Logic is simply needed in these kinds of situation.” “I hate you SO MUCH.” The Heart squawked, reaching over to mess up The Mind’s hair, now a black, stringy, mess. “There is a 98.34% chance you are going to REGRET THAT.” “This is why, in important events, none o’ ya front. You’re annoying as hell.” The Soul sighed, tilting The Heart’s chin up. His gaze almost softened mockingly at The Heart’s chirp. “I can’t be mad at this.” “I’m sensing sarcasm.” The Heart grumbled, pushing the eldest away. “You can sense that?” The Mind’s eyes widened a bit, almost curious. His cord tail thumped behind him for a moment, interested. “No, I’m an idiot who can’t tell what’s sarcasm from what’s sincere.” The Heart would have rolled his eyes, the sarcasm dripped from his tone like a leaky faucet. “Oh.” The Mind sat back. “OF COURSE I CAN SENSE SARCASM! YOU IDIOT!” The Heart groaned, putting his head in his hands. “DEAR GOD, BROTHER. YOU’RE WORSE THAN ANYTHING I’VE SEEN!” The Mind tensed a bit at that, nodding softly “I would prefer if we started the interview now.” The Mind slowly stepped away from the middle child, a sort of disdain tainted his action. “Permission for my departure?” “Sure...? Just head to the console.” The Soul muttered, glancing over at The Heart before returning his gaze to the youngest. “It’s not like it’s gonna start any sooner.” “Mental preparations.”
