Commonwealth of Colombia (Formerly known as the 'Dominion of Colombia', of the United Kingdoms of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) "For King and Country! Death to Traitors!" [Press Space/Click to advance in the slideshow] --- Essentially just an alt history where the United States losses The American Revolutionary War and remains a British Colony until the 1920s, shortly after World War One. --- Name Choice (Historical-Fiction, 'Colombia' history below is real): "Colombia" was a real suggestion in the naming of the current US, being deprived from Christopher Columbus' last name, as he was the first man to 'discover' America in the eyes of Europe. It seemed fitting that after hundreds of extra years of British Colonial Rule, the Americans would choose a name based in European roots. Vexillology Choices (Fiction): The Thirteen Stars represent each member of the Commonwealth, or the original Thirteen Colonies in their respective places within the Commonwealth. The Red, White, and Blue represent British Colors, yet re-arranged and re-toned in order to add a unique American feel. The Coat of Arms represent the American Fighting Spirit, as well as constant American Progress. The Sword of Progress represents how America can overcome and cut down any challenge, with the Royal British Crown representing America's undying loyalty to the British. Both Flags are used interchangeably, although the first one is used more often in official matters due to it's simplistic design, with the secondary flag being more of a civil ensign. Song Choice (Historical-Fiction, real song with real loyalist intent): "The British Light Infantry" was a song that gained popularity during the American Revolutionary War. Written from the perspective of the British Loyalists of America, the lyrics speak of American defeat and British superiority. This is also the official Secondary Anthem of the UCC as respect to the United Kingdoms. Slogan Choice (Fiction): The slogan represents how British Loyalty was a key component of the UCC's history, and was applicable to multiple parts of the UCC's history. Originally used for American Separatists during the Revolutionary War, This slogan re-gained popularity in WW1 and WW2, this time calling out collaborationist governments to the Central and Axis Powers. --- I spent way to much of my focus on the coat of arms :sob: If used for anything other then the competition please credit me directly and preferably notify me
