⠀⠀⠀⠀⊱ ────── {⋅. ✯ .⋅} ────── ⊰ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ɪɴᴛʀᴏᴅᴜᴄᴛɪᴏɴ ⠀⠀Hi! I was invited to @Kittenz_And_Foxies' Draw to Adopt Contest, and I decided to try out for #2: Fire (I changed him to a cat, cause I have no idea how to draw foxes). I think he looks really cool to start with, and I had a lot of fun redrawing him! (I hope he looks okay) I named this boy Icarus, for his ambition, recklessness, and beat down personality! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⊱ ────── {⋅. ✯ .⋅} ────── ⊰ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ᴀᴘᴘᴇᴀʀᴀɴᴄᴇ/ᴅᴇᴛᴀɪʟs ⠀⠀Icarus is a bright orange cat with black and brown highlights. He has lava rock-shaped patterns on his back, with very little texture. However, the fur on the black rock patterns is slightly stiffer and warmer. ⠀⠀Icarus's tears sizzle, creating a small flame, then evaporate. His paws and ear tufts catch on fire when he's upset, burning things that he touches but not himself, and his floofy flame-like tail changes color based on health and mood. For example, when Icarus is happy or energized, his tail burns bright red and orange, but when he's sad or unconscious, it turns dark, an almost black gray. White or light gray means fear or shock. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⊱ ────── {⋅. ✯ .⋅} ────── ⊰ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ʙᴀᴄᴋsᴛᴏʀʏ ⠀⠀Ever since he was a kitten, Icarus dwelled with his mother, Hestia, who took care of him and loved him more than words can say. Her fur was a warm light brown, which always kept warm in the cold, and she had golden eyes that glowed like the sun. ⠀⠀They lived together in the Magma Rainforest, where the bark on the trees was a solid red and the leaves on top yellow, with flecks of blue. The sky was golden, and every time it rained, the heavens poured forth burning droplets of lava. ⠀⠀The few creatures that lived there had learned to survive well enough and were lava-proof, but it really wasn't a good home for anyone. ⠀⠀When Icarus was born, Hestia knew immediately that he was different. He was a single kitten, and his tail changed colors. When he was very young, Icarus's tail was always golden colored, like the sun. Because of this, Hestia named him Icarus. ⠀⠀When Icarus grew up to be a young, feisty tomcat, the lava storms grew worse and more frequent. His mother Hestia started to grow ill from all the smoke and ash in the air. Her terrible coughing made her grow weaker and weaker, and Icarus knew that if she was to survive, they must leave the Magma Rainforest. ⠀⠀After a long, hard, painful journey, they reached the end of the brutal rainforest and for once, saw that the sky was blue. Hestia laughed weakly with joy for her son, but she knew that she wasn't going to last long. Her son seemed to be intent on finding something to make her better, but she had already breathed in too much smoke. She didn't want to dampen his hopeful spirits, however, so she did not tell him this. ⠀⠀Hestia and Icarus had almost reached somewhere safe to stay when a clowder of cats jumped out from the trees and ambushed the pair of mother and son. ⠀⠀Icarus still remembers that monster, that cursed cat who killed his mother in cold blood. The striped, green-eyed cat, with a twisted, corrupt smile that could crack boulders. ⠀⠀After the group of wicked cats left, Icarus stood there over his dead mother, quivering like a leaf. Tears streamed down his cheeks, burning his face as they evaporated. His tail turned an eternal, hopeless black at the middle to tail-tip. He wondered why they had mur∂ered Hestia, without even speaking a word. Somehow, he blamed himself for his mother's death, and swore to never trust anyone ever again. ⠀⠀Little did Icarus know that it wasn't his fault that Hestia had died... (If I get this character, I will probably elaborate more, maybe even write a short story about him :D) (Please trust me on this, I did not say that to try and get you to pick me, I just am captivated by this character and would really wish to write more about him. <3) His favorite color is gold ;)
