➽ Chapter 8 Stream POV TW - S!ckness My blind panic seemed to calm, like a storm slowly fading away. No more thoughts of drowning because of a silly mistake. I was calm. I was brave. I was STRONG. I felt a surge of strength, stronger than I had ever felt before. It burst into me like a flash of lightning. I didn't feel cold and weak. I felt alive, and more alive than I had ever felt. Tightly gripping Raven's scruff in my jaws, I leaped out of the river, and time seemed to slow down. I could feel the water droplets streaming off of my fur as we both left the water. And then I felt my paws touch the ground. Time sped up back to normal, and before I knew it, Raven was shivering and coughing with his eyes wide. "Raven!" I exclaimed. "Oh, you're okay!" He trembled a little, but he still smiled weakly at me, gratitude and wonder shining in his orange eyes. "H-how did y-you do that?" he sputtered, vomiting up water between words. I got to my paws and shook out my fur, water droplets splattering the ground and some splashing back into the river. "I...don't know," I admitted. I paused, then with a weary grin, I added, "You're such an idiot, you know that?" "Heh, yeah..." Raven sighed, dipping his head. There was a small light in his eyes and he smiled back, however. "WAIT!" I barked suddenly. "How come Moon didn't notice what happened?" We both turned towards Moon, who was still laying on the ground, her breathing shallow. She reeked of s!ckness. "W-what's wrong with her...?" Raven whimpered. I knew the answer to that question.
