here's my version of wade in the water by cynthia liggins thomas, made using reaper, splice and sine. cynthia liggins thomas was an american singer known for performing traditional african american spirituals, especially the famous song wade in the water. her rendition of the song became well known during the civil rights era, as the spiritual itself symbolized hope, resistance, and guidance for enslaved people seeking freedom. through her powerful and emotional singing, she helped preserve and share the cultural and historical importance of spiritual music, making her voice a meaningful part of african american musical heritage.
