Hi Crystals, I'm sure everyone's aware about the AI problem. This is getting out of control. I first heard about this from seeing other scratchers pfps, and at first I thought, "eh, they're being stupid" Which I take back completely. This is horrific. When I first heard about how AI is being trained to steal OUR OWN art, I was horrified. I couldn't believe what Scratch has become. From the past few years when I was younger, there used to be AI on most apps, YouTube, Tick on the Tock, SnapChat, Deviant art, and I realised, Scratch wasn't ONE of them. It used to be an amazing programming app for kids to express their imaginations. But now, what its becoming, is terrible. AI is taking over everything, and knowing that it's being trained to copy OUR VERY OWN ART, that I personally, worked YEARS on improving, while it can just copy it in 1 second is shocking. I'm SUPER ashamed in what Scratch has become.
What this means for me : If AI somehow copies MY art, I will be so horrified. It could destroy my art career, all I've ever worked on. For me this means a hiatus until this is over. How to keep SAFE : I feel for me, the best way to keep safe is either unshare ALL your projects, or leave. You must be extremely careful, although I feel it's already too late..please stay safe! Note to my wonderful Crystals, I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm super proud of you for standing up against AI. Keep doing what's right and keeping yourselves safe.
