i have digitally remade 'weeping willow rag' by scott joplin, using reaper and splice. credits to my trinity keyboard grade 4 book for containing the sheet music of the piece. scott joplin was an american composer and pianist who is best known as the "king of ragtime." born in the late 1800s, he played a huge role in shaping early american music by blending classical structure with lively, syncopated rhythms. his most famous pieces, like the entertainer and maple leaf rag, helped make ragtime popular across the united states. although his music was not fully appreciated during his lifetime, joplin believed strongly in his art and even wrote an opera to prove that ragtime could be serious music. today, he is remembered as a pioneer whose work influenced jazz and modern music in a major way.
