hey. it's Fox/River/Hope, whatever the HELL you want to call me, and I just wanted to say that I'm so disappointed. Alright, so, I've always kind of disliked ST for a few reasons, including taking down projects and my profile picture?!? for absolutely no reason. Alright, I KNOW that I have used Alastor the Radio Demon as my profile picture more than once, but STILL. What SEVEN YEAR OLD KID is going to click on MY profile (who even does that anyways) and say "Mommy look! It's Alastor!"...No one. I doubt any seven year old even knows I exist other than my sister's friends. BUT that's not why we're here. We're here because this AI thing? It's taking my disliking to a whole new level. First off. ST, I'm sorry not sorry, but using people's ART, that THEY worked on for HOURS or even DAYS, to train AI so that it can do the same thing in seconds?!?! I always have disliked AI, but I honestly didn't think that one of my favorite platform/websites would stoop to this level. ST, you should KNOW nobody reads the Terms of Service, and frankly, I don't think anyone ever has. So putting the fact that you use content that people have created to train AI is absolutely messed up. You shouldn't even be doing that in the first place! Because updating the TOS so that YOU can use OUR projects to TRAIN. AI?! That's messed up. This is causing Scratchers, such as @TheHearttaker, to leave, and I don't blame them. If ST keeps this up, I might too. This is getting out of hand. As @FiaTheeStallion said, they think everyone should email the Scratch Team and notify them about this, since individual emails usually get ignored (screenshot in the project, click to switch backdrops). Basically, Scratch is signing away our content to training AI models without our consent. It's not okay. They can't do this, and I hope they stop, because otherwise, they're losing yet another Scratcher, because I was so excited to start posting my art. If it's going to be used to train AI models, though, I'm not going to do it. Because Scratch Team. You can't use our art, our projects, to train AI. Work that WE spent OUR time to create, out of OUR day where we could be doing something else but decide against it because we'd rather do this, to train AI to do something exactly like it in SECONDS. It's messed up and it's causing people to lose jobs because their art style or content is too "AI based" or it looks "too much like AI." It's not that it looks like AI. It's the fact that people have taken other people's art and used it to train AI, and it's copied their art style. So thank you, ST, for promoting this. (If you couldn't tell, that's sarcasm). And if it is to train AI models so that people can figure out how to use Scratch and how to code and how to draw, then WHY wouldn't you put in an opt-out option? Some people don't want their work exploited or used for AI, even if it is for a "good" reason. As an artist, I can relate. I don't want my art being exploited in ANY WAY whatsoever to AI. We have lived SO LONG without it. Why do we need to start using it now? And ST, why would you promote it? If someone's looking for a story idea, they may turn to AI. But then what if the AI company decides, "Hey, that was my idea, so I'm going to sue you for copyright."? Exactly. The best stories have come from people's brains, not a robot's. It's why I like 70s, 80s and 90s movies. Because it was ORIGINAL. And no one had seen anything like it before. Thank you. Please please please raise awareness about this, I'm begging you. Remix this project, add comments of your own to it, please just HELP RAISE AWARENESS <3 I love you all! - Fox/River/Hope (all credit goes to me, , for the rant :3)
