First, these are my opinions. This is not meant to cause arguments; these are simply some things I feel the need to say. Please don't come attacking people in the comments, for the love of all! Second, I get that people have their own boundaries, and this is not intended to make anyone uncomfortable. I can't say it enough: You have the right to say, "I am uncomfortable with what you have said." If you suddenly feel uncomfortable with me because of what I'm about to say, just tell me. I get it. Stuff is hard, and I will respect your boundaries. Now, onto my yapping... So I'm pretty sure we all know about the new Scratch policies about them being able to use projects and comments to "train AI." If you aren't, I'd recommend reading through Scratch's new TOS before reading this. ^^'' As frustrating as this might be, let's be honest here. Humans are adaptable. As much as people don't like to admit it or prevent it, History repeats itself, and humanity always prevails. Scratch using AI and people increasingly using AI is not the end of the world. The current political state and economic issues worldwide are not the end of the world. People thought the Spanish Flu was the end of the world back when the First World War broke out! But humans continued on and adapted to change. You can have your opinions, and I cannot stop you, nor should I try to, but guys, you need to calm down. It is not the end of the world. Like, I'm not trying to say it isn't frustrating, but I've seen people doing such drastic things as leaving Scratch simply because of AI use. I mean, you guys can do what you want, and if that's leaving, feel free to. Again, I cannot stop you, and I don't have the right to try to. But gosh, can you people just chill and think for a moment! And also, stop being rude about it. We can all be angry and uncomfortable, but keep in mind this is a coding site for eight-year-olds. Your boundaries are valid, truly, but going "DNI ANYONE WHO USES AI AND YOU GUYS SUCK" is just rude. That is literally like going "DNI the future and whoever supports it!" :skull: Change happens, and arguing in the way we are now is not going to do anything. The key to change is adapting to it, not refusing it. Sure, it can be scary and make you uncomfortable if your art is used in AI training, but come on, guys. What did you think was going to happen to a site designed to appeal to the younger generations? Scratch is made for kids, and as the first group of Scratch kids age into adults, people lose interest. People change. The world develops and changes over time. That is how humans became such a dominant species. By adapting to those changes. Boycotting a kids' site for using AI is not how to change the world. Please, there are better ways. That said, boundaries should be respected, but if you're not comfortable with AI, I'm afraid you're about to get a real smack in the face from the world. Your parents and grandparents lived through a totally different time without instant communication. Today, we live without it. Am I saying that soon, kids are going to be unable to live without AI? Well, I'd say it's a possibility. And no offence to anyone's grandmother, but let's be honest, we've all gotten that one call from them yelling at the phone, "THIS DAM COMPUTER WON'T WORK IT'S BROKEN!!!" when really, the computer just wasn't turned on. And no offence, but I really don't want to be that kind of old man swearing at an AI robot for not making my breakfast right. That's just me, though. Anyway, here is my final statement. I support hard work, progress, and the future. I hold the right to my opinion and my authentic, non-ai creative works. I respect other people's opinions and boundaries with the expectation that you respect mine. I will not be leaving Scratch, and I wish everyone who is leaving the best of luck on their journey. August out
