This is the first part of a full lore overhaul of the VSSR: VSSR's despotic President Nvalny passed away in early November of 2025. Toxicology reports point to poisoning. In the hours following his death, Chief of the General Staff Fyodorovich Kadyrov assumed the Office of President. He declared a state of emergency and federalized all National Guard units, utilizing them to enforce immediate martial law across the entirety of the country, bypassing Parliamentary approval for military deployment. This was met with massive civil backlash, engendering rioting and intense protests the same night. Kadyrov, in response, instated a temporary nationwide curfew, and issued a shoot-on-sight order for violators. National Guard units invoked conscientious objection en masse, with an estimated 66,000 of 83,000 personnel refusing orders. Kadyrov, backed into a corner and with no hope of acquiring Parliamentary approval, ordered the deaths of all Parliamentary officials the same night. By the next morning, he formally absolved the apparatus of Parliament, declaring a military junta. He declared alignment with the FSSR, before deploying the military in full force to engage in lethal riot suppression. That same day saw the desertion of 200,038 military personnel, and massive rioting and insurgencies in the East. To be continued.
