✧☾ ☽✧ :-゜・.Here's my entry! .・゜-: ✧☾ ☽✧ Sorry that the first 2 stanzas don't rhyme. I hope you like it! Can you see around the world? No, you can not. Can you imagine 8 billion people? No, you can not. A second ago, a child was born, and its family rejoiced. They could not imagine anything happier. But do you care? No, probably not. Across an ocean from you, a child is starving. But can you see their face? No, you can not. Down the street from you, a child is starving. But do you know? No, probably not. Our world seems so big But yours alone is tiny You think you know it all You think you understand it. The masses of humans You'll never know existed Much less their lives and their love or the troubles they resisted And the same goes for them Who do you truly love? 10 people? 20? And who do you truly care about? less than 1,000. But that thousand is only a grain of sand a minuscule percentage of people just like you. So, perhaps you think you care. And perhaps you really do But keep in mind that billions of people don't care about you not because they're mean, But why do you matter? The answer's you both do and don't both the former and the latter. I hope this poem has been humbling to you And I hope you share this message with other people, too. I know this entry's out long before it's due, So please comment any typos and all suggestions, too.
