Get ready guys, this one is gonna be important ;3 Lilith sat on the edge of Frankie’s bed, waiting nervously. She looked up at Frankie, and saw that she was fidgeting with her hoodie strings. Frankie had auditioned for a community theater musical recently. It was her dream musical, and she was anxious to see the results. Now the two of them sat waiting for the email that told them she got the part. “ How long can this take?” Lilith asked Frankie. She saw Frankie pick up the phone and frown. “ Maybe I didn’t get the part. I probably didn’t,” Frankie said, laying down. Lilith frowned. She was worried Frankie would begin to fall back into her old habit. She’d just started getting her self esteem up, she couldn’t lose that now! They suddenly heard Frankie's mom call for her. Frankei sighed and slid on the bed. She stood up and looked over to Lilith. “ You’ll tell me if the email comes in right?” She asked, her eyes filled with worry. Lilith hated to see Frankie like this. “ Of course, and don’t worry. You’ll get the part,” Lilith responded. She flashed Frankie a smile, and Frankie grinned back. Then Frankie left the room. After a couple minutes Lilith saw the phone suddenly buzz. Startled, she scrambled to look at the message. Did it say Frankie got the part? It had to! She picked up the phone and stared down at the email. She could feel her stomach turning. This was it. This was the result. Everything up to that moment had led to this. All of Frankie attempts to get better at singing. All her practicing. This is what came of it. Frankie hadn’t gotten the part. Lilith couldn’t believe it. How had this happened? How had Frankie not gotten the part. Worry and fear spread through Lilith like molasses. What was Frankie going to do? Would Frankie go back into her shell, certain she wasn’t worth anything? Would she resort to the anxious and scared girl Lilith had met all those months ago? Lilith had to do something! She had too get Frankie that part! But, Frankie would see the email if Lilith left it. Should she risk everything and delete the message, or let Frankie go back to the way she was? Was Frankie’s happiness worth risking their friendship? Lilith didn’t know, but she knew she couldn’t let Frankie become that sad girl again. Panicking, Lilith’s finger flew to the dreaded delete button. With one fatal click, the message was erased along with any chance of Lilith backing out now. She threw Frankie’s phone back down on the bed. What was she thinking! Was she stupid! How the hell was she supposed to get Frankie the role! Suddenly, the door opened, and Frankie came into the room. She smiled wearily at Lilith and asked “ Anything?” “ Nope! Look Franks, I g-got head out. I’ll see you tommorrow!” Lilith said, walking out of the room. She saw Frankie looking back at her, wearing a worried expression on her face. “ Okay, well I’ll see you tomorrow," she said, as Lilith left the room. “ So you did something really, really, really stupid. What’s new?” Reid sarcastically commented to Lilith as she paced back and forth. When Lilith had gotten home, she told Reid about her situation. She’d hoped they’d be helpful. So far they’d just made sarcastic comments. “ Yes! Fine! Whatever! Just help me out,” She asked him. They might be the only one who could help her right now. “ Lilith, you want me to help you lie to your best friend by sending them an email saying they got the part from a fake account! Do you realize how that sounds? Do you even realize what you are doing?” Reid asked her. “ YES! I know I realize what I am doing is stupid, and insane, and messed up! I know this puts my relationship with my only friend at jeopardy! Yes I know I am risking everything! But I don’t know what else to do! This could be the only way I can fix this,” Lilith exclaimed at them. She knew this was probably the worst thing she’d ever done, but what else could she do. “ Fine, I'll help you. But leave me out of the rest of this, okay?” Reid told her. She agreed, and Reid began to set up the email.
Later that night, Lilith received a message from Frankie. Guess what. I GOT THE PART! Lilith felt her stomach turn, and was worried she’d even hurl. thats awesome Lilith saw another text come in The first table read is in a couple days. I can’t wait! Lilith felt herself come nearly to tears. She wanted to punch herself, or just do something to stop this. But she couldn’t. She was in to deep. She’d dug herself a hole she could crawl back out of. Her eye’s burned, her fingers dug into the sheet of her bed. Salty tears began to stream down her face as she felt her whole world come crumbling down. The day of the table reading, Lilith headed over to the theater. She knew she was running out of time. Scared she walked into the building. Inside it smelled of dust and age. The years of preformances satmon the walls. But to Lilith it loomed like a court would loom over a prisoner getting his sentence. What sentence would Lilith get? At a desk sat a man dressed in a old wool coat and slacks. His hair was a deep brown with specks of sliver. Lilith walked over as the man looked up at her. He raised an eye brow and asked “ Who are you?” “ S-sir, I’m Lilith… I’m Frankie’s friend,” she told him. She wondered if he even remembered Frankie. “ Ah, yes a talented young girl. Shame she didn’t get the part. But why are you here?” he asked her. So he thought Frankie was talented. Maybe there was hope. “ Sir, please. I need to to rethink casting Frankie!” she told. She could tell she seemed insane, but that didn’t matter now. “ Look kid, I can’t jsut change the casting on a whim for no reason,” He told Lilith, turning back to th script he was looking at. “ Why not! Didn’t you say she was talented?” Lilith begged him. She was begining to lose hope. “ Look, your friend has potential. But she has one problem. She’s not ready to preform infront of dozens of people,” He explained to Lilith. “ What?” Lilith said, not understanding what he meant. “ Preforming in front of me and two other people. She was to nervous. She didn’t have just stage fright, that was something more. If you can over come that, she could be a great preformer, but until then she’s not going to be able to get any part. I’m sorry Lilith, but that’s final,” He said to her, sending her off. As Lilith walked out of the building, she felt every bone in her body shake. She began to panic. She felt her heart palpitate, her breathing constricting. She clutched her arms as she struggled to grasp what was happening. It was over. Everything was over. She was going to lose everything. She couldn’t handle this. She couldn’t lose Frankie. She loved Frankie! Frankie was everything to Lilith, but now she was going to lose it all. Suddenly Lilith heard a voice coming up the theater stairs. “ Hey Lily!” Frankie had arrived.
