It blazed into the cracks of the mountains, reflecting off water and leaves and... feathers? He walked cautiously forward, to find a greyish kit with pink feathers. "Hey,” he said with all the gentleness he could muster. They were a beautiful kit, and really Fjordfeather should have loved to see them, should have brought them back to camp on Fjordie’s shoulders, but not tonight. Tonight he was tired. But he could spare a little sympathy. “D’you want to come back to camp with me?” he asked. Then something rustled. “Whoa!” Fjordie startled. The long grass was parting to reveal three more kits! “Do you all want to come back to camp with me?” They all made it to camp, Fjordfeather named them, and once they were asleep Fjordfeather strayed from the rest of the group, and left.
