————————————————————————— Cobweb'kit had been standing there quite some time. She had truly been there for a while. Standing in the middle of it all again. Him. The Protector of Kits, being dragged into camp by a warrior whose name was irrelevant. Useless. Just like her. Her claws sunk into the ground, soft after the morning rain that had just happened. She was here again. She hesitated, there was a rustling in the bushes. She turned towards it, and saw a mouse. Web looked down at the little mouse. She smiled, softly, and she was brought back to her mind. She bent down as the mouse scurried to the far end of the camp. ' ' Don't be scared, ' ' she cooed to it, her eyes soft. ' ' I won't hurt you, I promise. ' ' Her eyes were soft, inviting, like the color of the horizon, the color of the sunset. The color of love. The color of beauty. The color of a rose. But roses often had thorns. The mouse hesitantly poked its head out from under the bush, testing the air, ears perked and eyes still fearful. Web smiled. She must've looked like that to Wraith'spirit. To Ash'whisker. To herself. All those times she had escaped. She thought of the escapes and the daring adventures beyond the camp. Cob couldn't help but wonder, was it her fault that the Protector of Kits was now dead? She paused. If she hadn't made him leave camp, would he still be fine? There were the thorns. Again. And again. They were everywhere. In her fur, her eyes... Her heart. She smiled softly at the mouse, who was now inching closer to her paws. She was careful not to move, not to breathe. Not to scare the little thing. Webby, gently scooped it up, ignoring its dramatic squeals. ' ' What about you and I be friends? ' ' she offered, ' ' I promise I won't eat you! ' ' The mouse squeaked again. And again. And again. She rolled her eyes jokingly, and set it on the soft, wet floor. It shivered, and came closer to Webby, ' ' I suppose that's a yes. I guess I'll call you... Ghost. ' ' she meowed, ' ' In honor of Wraith'spirit. ' ' Ghost was a gray mouse, with white-ish speckles along his back and one gold and one blue eye, so she supposed the name was okay for him. Ghost squeaked again. ' ' Squeak twice if I can call you Ghost. ' ' Once. Twice. ' ' Nice to meet you Ghost, I'm Cobweb'kit, and I have a feeling that we'll be great friends. ' ' ————————————————————————— [ erp ] ————————————————————————— [ notes ] Cobweb'kit now has an Arctic Lemming mouse by the name of Ghost, who was named after Wraith'spirit.
